Help with MF Soso build

Hello guys!

I'm doing a Soso for MF only, but I have some doubts about the right build to choose.

My questions are:

- Which gear you recommend ?
- The spells, a unique kind or hybrid ? And which ones ?
- Which skills ? How many points ?

By the way, what you think of this gear ?

Helm: Shako + ptopaz
Armor: Tals plate
Weap: Occy + Ist
Boots: War travs
Gloves: Chance guards
Belt: Tals belt (or Goldwrap?)
Ammy/rings: Tals ammy, Nagels, SoJ

If you have full tals you might want to use a meteorb, if not blizz sorcs are great for mf.

Who are you going to be mfing?

What do you want to do with your mf sorc?
Run any part on game, like travical, chaos, WSK and other lvl85 areas?
Run bosses and super uniques (countess, andy, summonier, meph)?

That's a pretty solid character right there.
I have a blizz sorc with the following gear:

Tals Mask (Ptopaz) 24mf
Tal Ammy
Tal Orb (Socketed with 10mf jewel)
Tal Armour (Ptopaz) 112mf
Lidless Wall (Pdiamond)
Chancies 39mf
Tal Belt 15mf
2x Nagel 54 mf
War Travs 50

So with this setup and a 38 gheeds, 5x 7%mf charms, not to mention the set bonus of 65% from 3 tal items, I come in with 442 mf. This destroys mephisto, andy, pindle, ancient tunnels. I can also run the countess and summoner with caution (merc has insight, vamp gaze (PAmythest for str req) and an upped duriels.)

If i feel hardcore, I have occy and milbregas shield on swap (will make rhyme when i can be bothered). I also swap out tals for shako with ptopaz. This setup has 552% mf. With the second setup you have to be a little more careful but still the damage is over 3k, and cold mastery makes this still deadly enough to take down bosses quickly. The random tele is a bit annoying but only really when teleing through to bosses

639 mf without charms.. I have alot of resist charms though. Still looking Gheeds and have some minor 3-5% mf charms.

The max possible mf is always ideal, but its not what is effective in actuality. For me, the MF weapon switch for super unique kills became a hassle. Dont use a 6 ist sword, since an ali baba is just as good and 6 ists used like that is a waste. Use an ali baba socket with 2 ists like I used to on my lev 88 lite sorc. I ended up getting so pissed off at myself because I got a crap drop, and also forgot to weapon switch. i ended up stashing my ali baba on my mule, and chose quantity runs over quality. Doing more numerous runs gives you better quality in the long run anyhow.

2nd most sorc setups without tal set are lacking in resists so dont try it. You will get wiped out real quick if you hit a lag spike and get clobbered by some elemental monsters like burning archers.

Secondly, MF'ing won't be fun. Its repetitive after the 100th game of chasing nice drops and only getting low uniques or magic items. Mf runs need to be quick and effective (meaning no deaths and not getting close to death at any point). For that reason, I prefer routine and hassle free runs in areas like Andy, Meph, eldritch, and shenk. I do not suggest area running like WSK, where burning souls will simply destroy you no matter what your lite resist is.

Find a full chaos run game and tag along to do the boss mf spots in order to get the best drops. You can also try to follow after Baal games, but its kinda tricky since if you join dont the game right after its made, everyone leaves by the time you tp to your first boss.
