Noooo! - Items disappearing on battle.net

I have had several items disappear on battle.net. Perhaps when I died?

The first was a shield socketed with diamonds, the second was a +skills wand from my necromancer, and the third was.. worst of all.. my ribcracker.

Right now I am alternating between watning to kill someone, and kill myself (ok, not quite that bad but pretty bad).

Is this a known problem?

I was very kindly given the ribcracker by a member on this site, but the other stuff I found myself, so I very much doubt that any of it was duped or illegitimate in someway, and know the stuff I found myself wasn't...

How many times did you die when you lost the shield?


Did you have multiple corpses and not recover them all??

I think that when you die 20 times without retreving your corpse, your gear is a goner. Your items are unlikely to be duped, but that's always an option. Try retracing what you did step by step before your items disappeared

I am 99% sure that I didn't die that many times when I lost my previous items, and definitely not last night. Definitely retrieved the both corpses last night, and would swear I did the same perviously. Also, with my necro (and indeed lastnight) I don't bother requipping. I normally go back in naked to get my corpse (for americans, imagine a quarter back on a run, for europeans, imagine George Best!) so I find it unlikely that there was anything left that I somehow didn't see..

It was incredibly laggy for me lastnight though and I am wondering if that has something to do with it. So laggy in fact that I knew I shouldn't really even bother going on! Perhaps the lag had something to do with it?

Either way, I am still spewing.. :weep:

Oh well, time to get the Necro out perhaps and go hunting in hell for a decent replacement item.

if your backback and belt were both compeltely (or nearly) full, is it possible that some items would drop when you pick up your corpse? because picking up corpse does not automatically fill belt, so some of that stuff's gotta drop to the ground.

I have had that happen before, but normally the stuff that is left, is left as a corpse. So I dropped some potions, picked up the corpse again, and had everything..

Oh well, what is done is done.

Ha ha.

Just realised, a now have two swords the same.

Before using the ribcracker, I was using a two-handed STEEL sword. Now I have two of them!! So it seems my ribcracker has turned into a sword :scratchchin:

Even funnier, I found my missing wand and shield.. Pressing the "w" key swapped weapons and I found them :crazyeyes:
