Trading question

As I am on a crafting binge to upgrade my gear (I have no high runes), I've come up against a shortage of rubies. So I've attempted to go thte trade channels and such to offer trades for them (I am lots of other gems). No dice.

Are perfect rubies basically not traded? Even for Amys? Can anyone recommend a good way of farming them up? I have unforuntately kill NM and normal Cow King, so I can't access those, and I have not cleared Hell difficulty yet.

What realm do you play? Personally I never use the trade channels, but I doubt that's a good place to trade gems tho, I've seen a bunch of games with people who wants certain pgems, so I think just make a game and wait for people to show up. I'm not exactly sure where to farm gems, so I can't help you on that part.

NM Trav, will normally drop a few flawless gems.

You can also upgrade 3 gems to higher level one gem by using Horadric Cube.

I've been clearing Trav, Kurast, all of Act 1, etc., in hell mode, A LOT, and rubies just won't friggen DROP.

I had one gem shrine last night that I used with a flawless, otherwise I am in a ruby desert.

If you are trading items on the trade channels bump up the tey key price on Prubies . i.e. Value them at 2 rather than 1. Also offering 2Pgems for 1Ruby on b*net may get you somewhere.

i would just either trade runes or 2:1 ratio in pgems for the certain pgem u want, otherwise i run chaos games a lot and flawless gems always drop there.

Lol, I usually just throw gems away. Just make a game ' N Prubies ' and I guarantee (spelling?) that someone will join in no more than 5 minutes.

Sometimes, because we're dealing with a small sample size in terms of variety, we'll come across what seems to be a strange pattern. In this case, lack of rubies, in other cases it could be a glut of emeralds. Sad but true, and no less frustrating for it.

Good advice here though, start a game to trade your other gems for PRubies, maybe go to a ratio of 2/3 in their favour if you're in a rush. And doing endless runs might be dull but it's at least a constructive dull. I presume you've had runes and stuff drop for you in this time, if not, maybe try running more magic find and and gold find gear.

I am basically trying to gear up for Arreat Summit in Hell. I don't use a merc, and I have basically all crafted items. I am just waiting to make level 82 so I don't lose all the exp trying to win.

Anyhoo, I've blown through all my Sols now, so I have no need for rubies. Which means, of course, I will be buried in them tonight, and no Sols for a month.
