I noticed it before, but it's just came to me again when I saw the barb skill trees post. There is also nothing like chance to hit shown on character's screen.

It would make things simple again in terms of balancing and all melee wizard auto-stats discussion, but could they really miss something like this? What would your armor do then? Reduce damage? I really hope they just simplified things for the demo, but then why it's not even mentioned anywhere yet? They've included stuff like chance to dodge or critical hit, but no ar yet?

If there's attack rating again, I really hope they make it clear this time. The huge numbers made very little sense to me.

I would imagine it would be in there, but hasn't been added yet due to the fact they probably haven't come close to balancing it. If most of the monsters and such aren't even done yet, then they probably haven't even bothered to implement those values.

Or they could be doing something totally different. The whole new thing with critical hits and such, it seems strange it would be purely percentage based, but I bet it will be affected by armor and possibly attack rating. I hate to always be the one to bring Titan Quest up, but their system for determining damage and criticals and such was awesome, and very well thought out; at least in my mind. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like it implemented in Diablo 3.

Yeah I have to agree, the actual number rating system was a little whacky, seeing my AR be like 15,000 didn't really make sense until I hovered over it and saw my actual hit %.

They may aswell just give you a basic hit system, so instead of +AR items they have +hit% chance, that way it's a lot more balanced, and less confusing ;-)

What you see is incomplete, a lot of things are missing, but that's not to say they won't be in there, eventually, patience...

Their miss system was fairly bad, though. 100? melee/projectile evasion anyone? Fairly easy to do.

The reason they used an attack rating number instead of just going with '+chance to hit' is that it can scale down at high levels. At level 20 +200 attack rating can equal +5 chance to hit where at level 60 it can equal +1. If you put '+5 chance to hit' on an item it has to be +5 chance to hit at all levels. The low level gear will have the same bonus as the high level gear which makes for less exiting upgrades.

I agree that the numbers were kind of huge though.

I hope if there will be hit chance for physical damage they will implement hit chances for spells also coz in D2 casters had huge advantage coz of 100% hit chance

Well, I was always into Low Level Dueling..
Wouldn't this increase chances of success for low level builds?

No, never ever never ever!

Magic in D2 always hit, they way it should be but magic is also utter crap on low levels vs high level monsters regardless of the fact that it always hit...

In WoW it was so silly, tossing spell after spell with a Mage just to see "miss miss miss" on a 6 levels higher monster... Mages more or less became archers...

I don't know. I assume if the gear is balanced properly the low levels won't be able to equip items with large amounts of attack rating.
