Tyrael makes an appearance in the trailer! He is the commet!!!

Reasons I say this: (I am going from least to most convincing)

1) In the trailer, just as they say "the people pray", it shows the comet falling, praying for what? For help! And who has always been the Divine helper? Tyrael. (I know that at first it seems like a stretch at first but in the bigger picture it will make sense)

2) Where does it show the comet falling on? The Monastery! What do you see on the Blizzard’s DIII site? Tyrael sitting in the EXACT same monastery!!! You can go check, I am 100% sure that it’s the same place they show in the trailer.

but here come the kickers:

3) Look very closely in the cinematic trailer; you can see something fall through the roof of the monastery around 2:12 on my version and exploding within the monastery. What do you see? Only exploding fire? No, you see blue within the fire, blue wings? maybe?!?

4) And lastly, what makes me 100% sure that it’s an Angel? (Not necessarily Tyrael, but if you think its Tyrael on the Blizzard site it’s probably him) the fact that there is artwork currently on the Blizzard site that shows an Angel immersed in flame!!! At first I thought it was an Angel being attacked but now I am pretty sure it and Angel coming out of flame, which is the comet hitting the monastery!!!

Its Tyrael coming out of the comet!!!

And I am pretty sure he is coming to help, so all of you who think that Tyrael is evil? :alright:

Yeah I once pointed out that it shows the comet just as it talks about people praying for help. But wouldn't it have been better to post this in the story and plot forum?

Hmm...not to cause a fight, but I've seen nicer ways of telling someone that threads already exist about what they are posting. Especially when the person seems genuinely excited about what they are talking about.

I hadn't heard this theory, ZSieg, and I sure as heck wasn't gonna go filter through pages and pages of the Plot forum, so I appreciate the post. Sounds like some good food for thought. I will say that I have always thought Tyrael was evil as well....I think he has pulled all the strings, as I know many others have been hypothesizing as well. Can't wait to find out more!

if tyreal really is the main bad guy i will be upset, i did not like someone other than diablo being the final boss in d2:lod. i guess i just want to be able to consider diablo the ultimate bad guy in the world

I didn't want it to come across like I think the whole Tyrael is the comet thing was my idea because frankly it wasn't. But what I read about it didn't point out that the comet actually had angel-like-blueness... And spelling comet wrong in the thread name wasn't really my proudest moment in this forum but it's funny that I checked and fixed all the other ones and missed the most important mm,haha...

Furthermore, I don't think Tyrael has gone evil (I must admit that I am subjective on this matter and dont want him to be evil,there are valid points for and against this) I think he has 'fallen' or has been kicked out of heaven due to going against the Angiris council wishes on the whole let Sanctuary be issue... And ELox,before you point it out for me, I am sure that that has been stated in thousands of threads and I am using it here not due to my lack of spelling skill but because when making an argument for or against a point its not a bad idea to use corroborative evidence rather than bullish insults to get it across...

Good job Zsieg (glad to see others get excited about the lore). It's been stated alot in recent interviews that they wanna incorporate the gameplay with the story on a whole new level as opposed to previous games. Pretty much all of the game play that we look forward to has something to do the lore. Examples:Bosses, skills, classes, towns, mercenaries, NPCs, items, and the list goes on.
Posting on a subject that you want to go away is like buying your groceries from a freaking Wal-Mart if you're trying to stop Big Corporation companies....
Back to the subject. Check out the main page of Diablo 3 throught Blizzard.... whatever that comet is..... it's giving us a warning for something! All Hells about to break loose (pun intended... does that make me cool? indeed it doesn't...... ^.^)

i was gonna say, that does not prove to me without a doubt that there is an angel in the fire. there could be but i am not 100% convinced

Well in isolation, I would have to agree with you, they don't prove a thing but with some other hints it seems more than possible... But in these types of things it's more fun to be wrong! Makes it more of a surprise when you get the game. More of an enthralling story if you can say: "I didn't see that one coming!!!" :scratchchin:
