I have read similar threads, how people will be running obstacle courses, buying a new gaming rig and doing machette rampages through the hordes at kindergarden but how will you be staring off?

I, for example, will be going down to the store when it's released with 4 of my friends and grabbing a copy each, headed to a mate's place and all going finish the game on the first difficulty setting, each of us with a different char so we can chat and point stuff out to each other real easy.

Well for that and shared supplies of booze and pizza.:jig:

Pretty simple for me, I will wait in line for midnight release(I assume they will do one) get the game play it til my wife wakes up and yells at me. Then I will take a nap and wake up and play some more. I will continue to play way to much for the next 2 weeks since I will take them off from work. I feel that after 2 weeks of constant playing the “need” to play it will be satisfied enough so I can actually be productive at work, though the urge will probably stick around for a few months

I will be selling my 3 kids for medical experiments, using the preceeds to send the wife away on holiday for as long as I can afford.

I will then go to the doctor for as many sicknotes as he will give me, buy a trolley full of beer from the local supermarket, put all my local takeaway shops on speed dial, have a colostomy bag fitted so i don't have to waste time in the bathroom and start D3.

I may come out of my house occasionally but only to check that 'outside' is still there.

Is this wrong?

Nah, it's perfectly normal..

My goal is to have my office rebuilt by then, prime goal of which is to have to have it as acoustically perfect as my budget allows.

Yes. Set up a camera system with a little monitor next to your big monitor. This way you can check outside without leaving your seat.

I have one of those. I call it a "Window". :whistling:

Windows have this nasty effect of causing glare :)

Only if you don't have blinds on it.

Edit: So I have something constructive in here, I will just buy it at the same time as a couple friends and try to create a party like the OPs, and just play with them on battle net. I might take one day off, if my wife still works that day that is.

It would be nice if we could LAN it so we don't have to deal with opening day BNET lag.

I'm probably going to take a day or two off after release to just D3 my *** off. So far, none of the classes have really interested me, so I'm eagerly awaiting whatever I have coming. Heading straight to b.net, none of that SP business.

I've always been more of an amazon/assassin guy.

Well, by the time the game is released [*another year passes] and I'll probably have forgotten about it. I will hopefully, casually buy the game, after all frenzied crowds are gone, so that I can have my time in peace. Maybe even wait a few days to install it. You know actually come to think of it, I might even stave off buying the thing altogether, because if it arrives next year and I'm in the middle of writing thesis, then you can forget it! Awful timing! I wait eight years for a game, only to have it (likely) arrive in the utmost of critical periods... bleh!!! Evil!!!

Ah, but you know, I might just forget about reality, and grab the thing the day it arrives, that evile urge.. DIABLO here I come! hah!

Let's see...in a year I'll be a senior in college and postponing my med school applications so i don't have to worry about diablo and medical school at the same time. My daughter will be a bit over 1 so ill tie her to a desk or something so she doesn't walk around and ill have my gf make me food. Odds are I'll get all my friends and take them off wow so there are like 8 of us playing d3 and drink a ****load. hopefully my gf doesn't get into d3...she is starting to become intrigued

My plans are not fanatic. I plan to get StarCraft II after about a week after release when I'll hear what my friends think of it, and when I'll play demo's or other tools to help me decide whether to buy the game off the bat or not. If SCII is successful, I'd probably not be too excited about DIII. If SCII is not, I'd do the same as with SCII: wait about a week or two to see what friends think. I bought too many cats in sacks, especially sequels of great games, to just buy a game at launch or even preorder.

I don't know how I'll launch my D3 experience but I know how I'll end it: Play all acts EXCEPT THE LAST to savor the moment of me knowing that I haven't be the entire game yet, that way I'll know that my WHOLE D3 experience isn't gone yet :D, and I'll only finish the last act the day before D4 (lol) comes out.

I'll probably buy it the day it gets released, unless I can get a sweet collectors edition. Then I'll spend whatever game time I have in the first three months making a character, getting to Act II, scrapping it and making a new character. After that I'll most likely stop playing for a month for whatever reason, probably a new game. Finally I'll start a serious character and complete the game.
