View Full Version : Diablo 3 demo for us all.?
anyone know.. is the demo going to be released to us normal gamers.?
i would really like to get a try of the new diablo.
played the d1 and d2 true a million times. and would really like to play the d3 demo.. Living so far away that i could not go to blizzcon.
you probably have to go to blizzcon to get the betakey so no demos probably :(
I doubt there'll be an open 'demo' before Diablo 3 is released, except perhaps a open beta to stresstest the MP.
The other thing with a demo might be exposing coding holes or character info early as it would most likey be all on yuor hard drive, something they're still considering how they are going to ahndle for single player.
In the meantime I might as well finish me degree :C

Why do you all want beta slots? Playing a game before it's finnished cannot be that great, right? I for one totally prefer to play the finnished version of a game, instead of a test version.

i enjoy beta testing games, i like being able to do even a tiny tiny tiny part to help in the game. now i wont sit here and say i only wanna beta test to help out, i wanna play the damn game as fast as i can lol but i do actually enjoy bug hunting and what not
They won't be releasing any demo until shortly before release, if at all. Blizzard (and other companies) always create playable demo versions for gaming shows, but they're just to show off at that show; not for public consumption. In addition to not wanting or needing to promote their game in that way yet, show builds are very feature-limited, and are just made playable for that show. They aren't robust or tested to work on a wide variety of systems, and they haven't gone through and fixed up all the code or removed the non-functional or non-enabled parts.
That happens sometimes with official releases; bliz North accidentally left a bunch of early skill concepts and descriptions for the Druid and Assassin on the D2 beta CD, and had to scramble to try to contain/deny it once players dug into the code and found the info. (They didn't confirm the expansion or announce those characters until many months after D2 shipped.)
