I think I know the answer already but do unidentified items have their stats determined when they drop or when you ID them?

I'm mostly wondering about all the weird rituals a friend wants me to do with high valued unid items like using an ID scroll instead of cain and doing it inside the cube rather than in inventory. If the stats are already determined when they drop and you're only revealing them by IDing, then those obviously have no effect on the stats. (They probably don't anyway but this is certain proof.)

Also, repairing the hammer: fact or myth?

stats are determined when the item drops. where/how it's ID'ed makes no difference

I have no idea what you're talking about with the hammer, so someone else will have to answer that. :p

Its the Hellforge hammer. Some thinks repairing it before smashing the orb makes better runes from the forge.

Also a myth.

Sadly, our brains are programmed to interpret and develop patterns that we experience, ignorant that such events arose due to chance, and thus creating phenomenal rituals such as these.

Thought so, thanks!

(I guess my string of 4 cain-ID'd low dtorches last ladder were just bad luck then... :()
