I'm thinking about making a non-es fire sorc so skill points will be more free to spent else where after maxing essentials. Is Hydra a good skill to max/rest-of-points? I couldn't find any videos on it and never seen it used with real effectiveness. Can you give me opinions on
Effectiveness vs all builds?
How/when to use it properly?
Stunning potential?
TY
If not hydra there really is nothing else except maybe like firewall or something....

the player you're facing would have to be very very very bad to let themselves be hit by slow hydra bolts

I disagree, it is a great idea to use in conjunction fireball/orb or meteorb vs bone necros and mind blast assassins and other guys that you would be a fool to attack just directly and try to outspam.. Leave as many as you spare after getting all the basics.

I second deadbeater. I've come to the conclusion that they do quit well in svs too. Even if you go with es, at least put 1 Pt in it.
the good pvp builds u see are pretty much wat u see those players on realm playing. thoes extra skills point i say just in enchant at least it helps ur teammates.
if those firewall/hydra skills are actually playable in pvp, u wont be the first one to have thought about it.

It has been done, but the slow casting of Hydra, and their slow moving bolts limit them. They can be used as a little trap to get the other player to funnel where you would want them, but not great used as a main skill.

hydra can be an awesome pvp skill and is a good place to dump spare skillpoints.
it's main use is to get people to move or to think twice about telestomping. a well placed Hydra Trap can snatch a win.
