What would you make? Imagine a "rhyme" mosers, or a "wind" bonehew. But best of all I think would be a "death" rune master. What else would be possible?

How about Beast Rune Master

Crescent Moon Tomb Reaver

Sanctuary in Head Hunters Glory?

Fury in eth upped Hone Sundan?

Lore in Crown of Ages?

Grief in Runemaster?

the list could go on and on and on...

Probably a rare ethereal elite weapon with these mods:
Cruel Prefix
Mechanics Prefix
Fools Prefix or Masters Prefix
of Quickness Suffix
of Fast Repair
of Transcendence

then made into a Strength Runeword to add crushing blow

Olbaid has got the best one, though with "of Slaughter" instead of Transcendence it would do slightly more damage. Put into a Thunder Maul it could reach an on-weapon max of 1929.

Get a level 99 titan Concentrate Barbarian with Mace Mastery to wield that, and actual max damage is 2.592. Now equip him with Arreat's, two 20 Strength rings, Fortitude, crafted amulet with +2 Barb skills & 30 Strength, Steelrends, 20 Strength belt, Marrowwalks, 9 Combat/Masteries skillers, Anni, Torch and 10x 2 Strength small charms. This boosts max damage in a single hit to 36.034. Then, invite your three best Paladin friends and a druid, to apply level 52 Concentration, Might, Fanaticism and Heart of Wolverine. Ready? Max damage: 78.665. Even without the runeword applied (as in: this is actually possible to do) that's 76.870 with an 11fpa attack - 174.496 DPS.

Deadly Strike anyone?

Imagine Griswold's full set with 4 powerful RWs? (my head a splode)

Fortitude Jeweler's Archon Plate of the Whale.

Phoenix Jeweler's Monarch of Deflecting.

Sanctuary Artisan's Large Shield of Deflecting (max block/resists on low str/dex build.)

Gloom upped Black Hades, 460% ED.

Stealth/Smoke Spirit Forge good for low levels.

I've always thought that the RWs should be less powerful (more like the pre-1.10 runewords) and then have the ability to socket runewords in rare and magic items. It would really up the value of those certain items and allow greater customization in RWs.

Alash, paladins and druids can actually get higher level auras, so the damage could be even higher, although it wouldn't do anything, since an enemy can only take up to I think it was 67000 damage per frame from the same element.

Frees up gear for survivability then. 67.000 damage per frame is still 1.675.000 damage per second, so the only difference would be to invest the rest in that 10 fpa. And even with this cap, the Barbarian would deal 167.500 DPS, which is somewhat much. ;)

How about Enigma in an upped Black Hades? Wouldn't mind the 2446 defense.

Or maybe a Barbarian dual-wielding ethereal Death Rune Masters?

there was a version of 1.08 patch where you could make runewords in crafted items. I did so in a crafted armor. On that note, it seemed like the crafts were so much better back then. There was class specific formulas, and normal/elite formulas.

In the damage cap I didn't mean that damage "in average per frame". I mean, if you have a 20 frame attack of 200000000 damage, it will still only do 67000 damage every 20th frame

Griswold set seems like a dream when it comes to rws in set items :)

Weapon: HotO
Armor: Enigma
Helm: Lore?
Shield: Exile

Exactly; you apply 67.000 damage every 10th frame (max for Thunder Mauls), which is 2.5 attacks per second, or 167.000 damage per second.

Instead of using the Strength runeword, you could just add 2x Ohm or 1x Ohm 1x Ber though... :whistling:

chaos in an eth jewellers/self repair runic talon?
Fury Tomb Reaver?
Death in an eth runemaster?
Spirit in a JMoD?

this gets really silly, really fast.

Or even sillier: bring patch 1.07 in here.

"Fury" Crafted Weapon with 500% ED/40 IAS/20 Max/20 Min/3 Open Sockets

700% ED, 80 IAS, and Deadly Strike anyone?

Wind would be even nicer. Not alot of damage by the runword itself, but when you add the 450% ed from cruel and master's, it's alot.

I would make hoto in a jeweler's war scepter of the magus with staff mods of +3hammer, +3conc, also a cookie... for myself.

The cap is 87K actually before roll over at the frame level iirc.

The damage cap is 87030 for a SINGLE damage source. That means 87k fire, 87k cold, 87k light, 87k physical, 87k magical, 87k poison all per frame would stack together. Such a feat would be impossible to ever achieve without modding.

gris set would be unbeatable with runewords in it. That's what I'd take.

Enigma gris armor
Dream or sanctuary Gris shield Shield
Lore gris helm
Rift/hoto Gris Caddy
