(not word for word)
Jay Wilson: Having the skill rune equipped to your character (can be used by all classes) will increase their skill's potency. Having a "strike rune" allows skills such as teleport to do damage to any monster within teleport exit. "Multi strike rune" gives skill the ability to have more than one, such as instead of firing 1 firebolt you fire 2.

I'm either way on this idea. It seems good because it adds a unique element in the game, more builds, more strategy, more interesting.

The bad: Kind of eliminates the uniqueness of skills IMO

the skill runes look very cool. it actually adds to uniqueness of skills, since everyone will have somewhat different runes in their spells. so even when you have the same spell as someone else, it will work slightly differently. eventually at the high end players will probably have more or less the same tier 5 runes in their spells, unless they have ultra rare runes. but that's unavoidable eventually. and it's still more varied than d2 is now, since there will be far more top end skills that are viable in d3.

Question.

Will Barbarians be able to adapt the Multi-strike rune to Charge so they can ping-ball through mobs with it?

Cause that would be freakin' awesome.

Teleport....okay but I think with damage it might be a tad messed up for pvp.

A very interesting idea that can greatly affect play style. The idea that you can adapt a skill to different situations depending on the skill rune used appeals to me. Although I share Matora's concern that some things might become overpowered. Still Blizz hasn't even finished the game and balancing is probably the last thing they'll do.

Teleport can easily be balanced by what we already see - the delay after the teleportation occurs. If you try the whole "teleport around barbarian" thing in PvP, chances are he will smash you in the ground in seconds. Charge, Shockwave, or stomp come to mind
