View Full Version : Multishot Skill Points?
Ok after reading through the entire 18 pages of the Multi-shot vs. Strafe thread i've decided i want to use Multi-shot on my Bowazon.
But one question remains. How many base skill points should i invest in this skill? I initially wanted to max it for pure awesomeness but after a bit more research it seems almost impractical to max Multi-shot.
So my question is, on a Bowazon, how many points should i invest in Multi-shot?
Thanks
Edit : Also what in general should my skill build be if im planning on a Multi-Shot Bowazon? Thanks!

Add so that you have level 10, then play her a bit and add a point if you're not satisfied with the span, repeat.
I personally like level 15.
oh thanks for the info :D
i was wondering if by 15 you mean base lvl of 15, or 15 total (meaning with all +skill eq).
Also still kinda looking for a general Skill build. Ive been reading through all the Bowazon guides that are stickied but while some are dated, others dont really apply to a MS Bowazon. Thanks a lot in advance.

I always put 10 points into Multi. With Torch+Anni+Faith, you will have almost lv 17-19 multi. Just put 1 pt into Strafe as a back-up skill. Strafe works great in Normal and Nightmare where you can't leech mana that much. BTW, you have done a good choice in choosing Multi :).
For your skill build, I recommend you max Guided Arrow and Critical Strike. Just put 1 point into the pre-requsites. For Dodge/Avoid/Evade, try to get at least 12 points (with +skills). Increasing them further has diminishing returns, which is not worth in my opinion. You can put some points into penetrate (like 5 points). Your +skills will take care of the rest. You can use this Bowa for PVM and PVP.
You can either go for a glass cannon, pure vita or balanced bowazon. A glass cannon has lots of dexterity points investment but low life. A pure vita has just enough dex but has more life and a balanced one has decent dexterity and decent life (1k plus) investment. I prefer the balanced bowazon. You can refer to the guides for more of your planning and equipment selections.
I meant level 15 after +skills.
I believe that level is high enough to do well in open areas such as chaos sanctuary, while small enough not to be wasteful to use in semi tight areas (WSK, the pits ... etc).

I usually go between 10-15 points (after+skills)
For a pure Multishot Bowa, you will have points to spare.
'Normal' setup on a bow is max Penetrate, lvl 9 pierce(with Razortail-belt), lvl 10-15 Multishot, max Strafe, lvl 16 Critical Strike, lvl 17-max Valkyrie.
So if you only want to use Multishot, you can ditch the points from Strafe and Pierce and max Critical Strike and max Valkyrie, go with only 1 pt in Pierce. And if you have a good manaleech, you can have 20-24 points in Multishot. The rest I would place in Decoy.

Heya,
Even in the glorious java days of 1.10+, I still love a good multi-shot zon. Mainly, because I love how fast she can fire with a bow. Low damage is fine if you have high deadly strike/critical strike and retarded fast attack speed. Add knockback, chill or even blind and you're just ridiculously safe.
I'll echo a few above, with the 10~15 area for multi. I've maxed it and gone even higher just to see the huge span of arrows, but ultimately it just looks pretty, and probably half of them were actually hitting anything because there's just so many. So if you have spare points, go for it, but ultimately, I always find more stuff I want (like in passives). I also like having a synergized elemental attack for backup against a phys immune though (or magic arrow, if you wanna do that instead for them; but frozen arrow gets stupid good damage while magic arrow is just meh; difference is frozen arrow can be mana intensive while magic arrow costs you nothing and just fires).
It may make ya laugh, but I adore the Silence Crusader bow. Massive blinding. It's not the fastest bow on it's own, but with IAS gear, it gets pumping fast. Mass blind. Knockback goves and slow, and add chill. Monsters are just turned into bags of water that hang around while your critical animations just blink over their heads until they vanish into the dirt, dropping gold and cracked sashes. It's glorious.
If you're a pure bow zon, frozen arrow is probably your best bet as an additional skill for taking out phys immunes. Another option is to have a bow that does elemental damage on switch. Another option is to have an item on switch or ammy with amp damage chance or charges. Lacerator for example on switch has good odds to cast amp damage. Then switch to bow and guided arrow the phys immunes face and it's easy pie.
Example skill layout (not even optimized):
15 multishot
20 cold arrow
20 frozen arrow
1 guided arrow
10 critical strike
8 pierce
17 valk
1 in all req's.
100 skills, so done by upper 80's.
Cheers,

Normally I use Strafe. But if no Strafe, then Guided Arrow it is.
