Whats a mule trade? (from the trade forums)
The search function just leaves me with pages of trade threads.

A mule trade is for large quantities of items. It involves making a separate account, putting the items to be traded on characters on that account, and then trading the password to that account to the other person. Last I checked, I think it was disallowed here due to the obvious chance of scamming.

Thats interesting. I would have never thought of something like that.
Ive been looking for a 4 socket sword for days now, so I went to the trade forums to look for one. Just about every thread says something about doing mule trades.

Everything you need to know about mules trades would be right here (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=579448).
@Nimbostratus: Where/from who did you hear that mule trades were banned? I haven't heard that before.

Like I said, "Last I checked." I haven't done any trading in at least a year, so things have likely changed since then. Heck, I might even be thinking of a different forum entirely. It just didn't seem like something that would be allowable here.

Hhhhmmm, I don't play Bnet so can't say for certain. But I would think that since this question comes up fairly often that it was allowed here, otherwise a Mod would step in to mention something.

Mule trades are definitely allowed in USWest and probably allowed in the other ones.

Just start a game called "brng 4os swrd." You should be able to get one for 5 pgems easily. Or, you can just do some normal cow runs and you should have one in a few hours. Any long/broad/crystal sword dropped by a normal cow will get 4os from larzuk. Or, just join a cow game and search the piles of left-behind-loot for a sword.

I think Normal Cows can only drop 3-socket swords, by the way. ;)
Mule trades can also be done when the two people who are ding the trade are just never online at the same time (conflicting working hours, time zones, whatever)

Mule tyrades are the most common way of trading. In fact the USeast trade MOD, SSNLDO has a stickey in his signature on how to mule trade, http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/member.php?u=159807
