View Full Version : PDSCs and Treachery
Right now my strafeazon has Treachery and a 100/4 sec PDSC, a 50/3, and a 25/3.
Tell me if I'm doing this right...
Venom, when it activates, will take the average DPS of those 3 charms (25, 17, 8) and add them to Venom's DPS over 0.4 seconds. Since venom already does like 900 dps itself, its not very effective to try and boost it with charms, is it?
Correct, the charms doesn't really add much at all when using venom.

Venom doesn't work for another reason for zon: poison length is drastically shortened. Therefore monster can heal self during the extra time that it is not poisoned.
This may sound a little odd, but what about with Plague Javelin? Does the poison cloud from Plague Javelin get boosted by any kinds of Poison damage like Exploding Arrow? Perhaps Treachery on that would be most brutal, given that the high DPS of Venom would be constantly re-applied to enemies that hung around inside the cloud.
What does exploding arrow have to do with that? I really can't see how exploding arrow would effect a poison cloud.
You are correct, if you manage to get the poison damage from venom to add to that of poison javelin, you will get very large damage - enough to one hit hell baal forinstance. However, the only way to get it to apply to the poison of poison javelin and plague javelin is by letting the physical javelin hit the monster while venom is active. This makes that one target that is hit by the physical javelin receive huge damage, however, those only poisoned by the cloud will get normal damage.
So it doesn't work in practice.
Now, I'm not sure how poison dagger works. That one might works somewhat viable with venom. On the other hand, I can't think I've seen one in years, so it doesn't seem to be that effective. I'm sure you can find better information in the necromancer-stickies.

Exploding Arrow applies all fire damage to everything in it's radius. Maybe Plague Javelin does the same thing with poison damage. Sure they're no reason for one to cause the other, but they may have been programmed the same way.
Well, they aren't - eventhough it might have been more logic if they had. Venom doesn't get added to the poison cloud while enchant does get added to the explosion.
