Could the Class released this Weekend be Evil?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to get some opinions on this, do you think the new class that will be released this weekend will be evil?

What if the class is called an Anarchist. they have to fight the same zombies and dune threshers because they are so focused on their goal of finding Diablo or releasing diablo that they will kill anything in their path.

Or something like that. Will the impose factions in D3 and will we be shown the first non-hero hero of the Diablo series?

I am assuming. haha. They have mentioned before that there will be a big update, and they already know what one of them is because jay wilson has said it will "anger the previous class fans" or something like that so I am making a logical assumption that a new class will be revealed this weekend. could be wrong, but im playing a hunch

We assume that a new class will be revealed. Blizzard's representatives have been *nudge-nudge-wink-wink* on this subject for some time now. It's pretty much confirmed in this description of the Diablo III Class Design panel:

Edit: Also I don't think the next class is going to be an "evil" one because JW said it will somewhat similar to an old class and no D1 or D2 class was evil. They had different motives for fighting Diablo and co& but never for any sinister reason.

The closest thing you'd see to an anarchist would be someone who is socially distant like the archetype of assassins.

i am pretty sure we are going to see the sorc(mage, whatever, a caster) class be announced. me, and alot of other people have felt this for awhile and there have been several quotes to make me believe it even more.

Yeah? Why can an evil one not be similiar to a sorc. The main point of this thread is to see if you guys think different factions will be in the game. If the Anarchist is a character, his spells could be frost orb and fireball. There ya go, its a sorc and pisses the sorc people off haha. The Witch Doctor and necro are similiar in spells and look...not because they are both "good" characters.


So will we this weekend, or in the future see a char or two who isnt in the same faction as the others. What would this mean for PvP or is this too unlike Diablo to ever happen?

i guess i never did answer the original question, so i will now. i personally do not think we will get factions or good/evil. some considered the necro evil in D2 but with the same goal as all the other heroes. They could probably do that again but I do not think they will. However they might add a “evil” class in an xpac down the road to help set up the Diablo mmo(which I fully believe will happen).

You lose. All D3 classes seem to follow a male/female counterpart for each class. Amazons, by definition, are female only. They're out.

That said, there will be a ranged class.

I don't think an evil class is likely. They're putting in a rescue-Cain part and a back-to-tristram part by the looks of things. It looks like d2 ideas with some improved mechanics and graphics. So since all the old heros were good guys, I figgure d3 will be all good guys.

Idk, I just hate rescuing Cain. Over and over and over.

maybe they will throw in a really bad movie twist and in the end all these "good" guys end up unknowingly helping spread evil across the world

haha, I like that twist. I just think there is so much we dont know about the game, but we can always assume things. We can assume that every char will start in the same spot and same location with the same quests...but we dont really know that.

ohhhhhh what about a Leoric Knight class. one of king leorics personal servants brought back to life? I dont know haha he would probably do good also anyway

I'd bet they will keep it so that all the different classes work together to stop Diablo. If there were different sides to it then there would almost have to be different ending and storylines and that wouldn't work well with multiplayer
