Jumped Up Pantry Boy

So the impression I get is this; people don't invest heavily in strength, instead they'll do something like...
1) Invest Str so you can equip one piece of gear with a +str enchantment
2) This allows you to equip another piece of gear with more +str...
And so on and so on to varying degrees. And you can also use charms to increase your strength meaning, potentially, you'lll invest very few hard points into strength which seems to be fairly irrelevant if you're willing to invest this time and effort in getting around it. This means more hit points or dex.
So I guess my specific question is how many hard points should I put into strength as a Necromancer wanting to equip the whole Trang set. None of the pieces have str bonuses, but it does leave my jewelry slots free.
Second question would be how common are charms and jewelry with +strength and are these things I should be focussing on acquiring?
Cheers guys, this seems simple on the surface but I lack the experience to know the fine detail :)
