As the title says, anyone think this is Tristram (http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/world/bestiary/scavenger.xml) or does it look a bit too "beautiful"?

Scroll down to about a little bit above the middle of the page, and you'll see three pictures on the left side, click on the dark'ish blue one. I see a fountain that reminds me of the one Cain always stand next to.

Could be, or at least the development of it... Compare New Tristram's artwork:http://us.media.blizzard.com/1901200114/_images/artwork/ss12-hires.jpg with the screenshot:http://us.media.blizzard.com/1901200114/_images/screenshots/ss43-hires.jpg

You can clearly see the cross shaped lamp and the fountain.

I wouldn't think new Tristram had scavengers inside it... I thought it would be a safezone with NPCs an no monsters...

Anyway the comparaison with the picture and the SS is pretty good.

unless tristram starts as a "safe zone" to the start of the game but gets overrun by monsters at night and thats how your adventure begins? just a random pointless though that as i think about it makes even less sense since it looks like the building is already destroyed.

hmm, maybe it is tristram but not early game? maybe as you evolve in the game it gets destroyed? of course something like that might impact people being able to jump act to act in mp games.

oh well enough rambling from me

I noticed that well too and left same remark in the thread with the naked char or whatever. My guess is that it probably is

I think it's the Tristram from Diablo I and Diablo II. The fountain kind of gives it away. However, New Tristram is in a new location, removed from the site of Tristram. I don't remember where it was stated, maybe Cain's journal.

There is that bloody human looking corpse in the top of the screen, so it's very possible that the town gets overrun while you're there.

Or, since Tristram expended troughout the years, the ''safe zone'' is further from the Monastery while all the good old buildings surrounding it are infested.
