Hi all.I started playing Diablo 2 again.I want to make a pure lightning javazon.
First of all , i read some guides and i found some nice 9k + dmg on charged strike.Sounds very nice so far.I went to singleplayer and edited an amazon
I maxed all charged strike's synegyes and i got only ~2.6k dmg.I have to mention that the amazon was naked (:whistling:)
Is it possible to get 9k dmg from + skills on items/torch/anni and so on ? I dont think so :) Is it something i'm missing here? Thank you.

You also have to factor in +skills and facets that gives +5%lightdamage.

I cannot afford facets.
But from 2.6 to 9 k is still a long way.Maybe the real damage is not shown ? Like the smite + grief stuff :scratchchin:

Nah, the damage is shown on Character window properly. Facets + griffon make a big difference tho - on my ama I get +40% to lightning damage just by using griffon and a total of 5 facets. And you also get -% to enemy lightning resistance, so in pvm the damage gets boosted even more.

You should up CS and the synergies and check the damage then - on the top of my mind you should be looking at skill level around 33 or so for ~9k damage. Maybe higher, I cant logon to check, rd again..

PS that is with the 40%ish increase from facets and griffons eye

EDIT Mine is 9k at lvl40. I still need to max the synergies tho (and I dont htink I can max all of them ;X)

Griffons is a long shot for me.
I dunno...is it still worth to make an javazon without godly gear ? I dont wanna hear about hammerdins :jig:

Charged Strike still kills really fast even without godly gear. That number you see in the LCS is the damage per bolt. Against large monsters (all the act bosses), all 10+ bolts will hit.

A very inexpensive way to increase the damage is to shop for a weapon with lower resist charges. Put it on switch and cast before engaging any of the bosses.

I didnt know that.I guess i can afford some medium gear so i wont be totally useless :)

Building a lvl 49 pvp zon(mld), currently does 3095CS and 2023LF with 7 skillers and a single 4/3 facet.
I get my skills from: Seven java skillers, Titans, Valk Wing, 1xSoj, Tgods, Vipermagi.
Meaning that at least another +9skills is possible (for lvl49.. moreso for higher characters) with +1 from shield, +1(2) from amu, 1+ from ring, +3 from skillers, +3 from gloves.

Damage from the Javaskills is all about +skills+skills+skills, and then add facets:yes:

Quick semi-related question that I've been wondering about for a while:
If I give my merc a weapon with -35% to enemy Lightning resist, will that affect my javazon's lightning damage to those enemies (if they are for example lightning immune, would that break their resistance?), or would I have to wield that weapon myself?

And also, are there any in-expensive ways to break the lightning immune mobs esides the abovementioned weapon? (It's a runeword, as I recall, but one that I don't think I can affort yet). I'm not rich enough for Griffon's, facets don't really seem to have enough to break immunes, and for now, I can't solo Hell at all...

Any advice?

The -35% enemy lit resistance on your merc does not affect your own damage. So the Crescent Moon runeword won't help your damage.

An inexpensive method is to use a wand that has lower resist charges on your weapon switch. These can easily be shopped in Mala / Drogan / Akara. You'll have to repair the charges though, so the cost does accumulate.

The expensive solution is Infinity runeword, Ber-Mal-Ber-Ist in a polearm for you merc.

I've never seen a lower resist charge weapon before, but then again, I don't shop for caster weapons much, I need to start looking for that. :P Charges are expensive to fix. The Hydra charges on the Hellfire Torch cost 37k+ to repair EACH! O_O
Wouldn't it be better to get Crescent Moon on switch and just Lightning-Strike them? Or is 35% not really enough to break immunes?
(Yeah, I can only dream about 2 Bers at this point, and even then, my first will go to Chains of Honor for my Meteorb, and then Enigma so I can teleport the Javazon to Baal...)

-% enemy resistance is not used in breaking immunities. Only conviction and lower resistance is. The -% enemy resistance kicks in after the immunity is broken by those two methods. For a better explanation on breaking immunities, read this stickied thread in the sorc forum.

Why on earth would you want to tele past all those sweet dropping mobs on the way down to baal? I've gotten way better stuff from them (and a lot more) than I ever have from baal and company. Really the best way, in my opinion, is to treat the WSK as the main course and baal as an added bonus waiting for you at the end of a good mf run.

Well, the problem is that there are a lot of lightning immunes in WSK, and my javazon is poor to break them...

olbaid, thanks for the link and the short explanation before I wasted my runes on Crescent Moon when it's not going to help me. :P
Now onto hitting local caster merchants for lower resist charges... >_<

My meteorb is a different story, she can handle WSK and the Baal Bunch just fine, but the whole thing is kind of slow and boring... Thank God for Thundergod's! (yeah, pun intended) Those Gloams used to fry her butt like a mosquito on a bug zapper. Now, if only there were elemental absorb charms... Until then, it's TGod, Raven, Dwarf, and StormS for me. Too bad my merc dies so fast I don't even notice when he drops...
