Hey guys,

Ive read a bit of other posts, and it seems many people are returning to D2...
maybe because of the announcment of D3, or just cuz its cool hehe

Anyway,

I was wondering, mostly about the pandemonium event. (nice name btw hehe)

What are the recommended builds for it ?

Pre-ladder reset, I had a smithadin, which really kicked *** :D

I might want to try something else to try and get torches...

I read through the strategy builds, and i couldnt see anything for the pandemonium event (smithadin wasnt even in paladins ?)

Thanks for the input !

A smiter can get the job done extremely easily provided you wear the right gear. I would suggest a 1pt smite build (Hammerdin) as it makes it a lot easier on yourself to clear to the mini's. Once you get some gear base going you might think about doing a pure smiter.

Yeah...

But my main question was, anythign BESIDES a smiter ?

Cuz i know smiter works. its tested and verified.

Anything else ?

Frenzy barb is also a strong choice

A kicksin will also work, they can deliver huge amounts of CB in very little time.

I did him with my Berserker Barb, and barely even used a pot.... keep in mind Berserker's don't leech, making it even more impressive!

No runewords either. Just used Death Cleaver for a weapon, and might merc used reaper's toll.

Did your merc survive ? What was your other gear ?

I’m level 91. Skills are the standard Berserk 20, Shout 20, BO 20, Howl 20, BC 1, NR 1, rest in Mastery (almost maxed I think).
<O:p
Battle Cry would help even more, but I haven’t put a point in that as I eventually plan to have Call to Arms on switch as I’m trying to reach the maximum level 57 Battle Orders, and CtA gives 1 more BO than 2 x Echoing Weapons. So that gives me a free Battle Cry, so I didn't want to put a point in it.
<O:p
My gear was:
Death Cleaver
Stormshield
Duriel’s Shell
Gore Rider’s
Guillaume’s Face
Highlord’s Wrath
Thundergod’s Vigor
Carrion Wind
Rare ring with 22 Fire Resist/22 Cold Resist/15 Strength
<O:p
Then I casted Enchant on myself and Merc from Demon Limb
<O:p
All of that is pretty easy to acquire stuff with nothing costing more than 30 pgems. I don’t think I even need the resistances from the rings, but he is basically kitted out for Uber Tristram, so didn’t exactly tweak him to take on the wimpy dclone.
<O:p
The only thing that might stand out is I think I had about a level 48 battle orders which is fairly high. Shout would have been almost the same, but with Berserk giving you 0 defense, shout only helped my merc.
<O:p
Yes, my merc survived no problem. I gave him one rejuv, but I think he was going to be able to go the whole fight without it because of his high leech. I just wanted to be sure though.
<O:p
Merc has:
Reaper’s Toll (not eth, but good base percentages 239% ED, and 14% LL) socketed with a 39% ED Jewel
Treachery Archon Plate (not eth again)
Vampire Gaze 19% DR 8 % LL (not eth again)
<O:p
So there’s a lot of tweaking I could still do, but in short, Berserk is vastly underrated and works well without the godliest of gear.
<O:p
I did just get Enigma though, and that allowed me to put my ravenfrost back on which means my chance to hit jumps up a lot.
<O:p
Eventually, he’ll have Death with an Act 1 Merc carrying Faith to help me reach the fastest FPA. Then he’ll also have 100% Crushing Blow and 100% Deadly Strike. I made a thread on the barb forum when I was figuring out what weapon to use. Might be interesting if you’re thinking of making a Berserker: http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697050 (http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697050)
