LLD smite paladin

I will be making lld smite paly 30lvl.Can some of you that have experience in lld tell me if the build is good ?
This is the distribution of skills i intend to use :
12 - concentration
1 - holy shield
20 - smite
rest - charge
As for the equipment i think of using : 6 sox crystals sword/phase blade with 4 shael runes and 2 x 15 max dmg jewels , 3 sox crown with max jewels , 4 sox akaran rodache ( whats better edamage or @ res ? ) with max jewels , blood fist gloves , rare belt with str and life maybe fhr , amulet with 2 combat sk + life ,3 sox armor + life ( are they being sold in vendors ? ) , boots ... i have not decided yet ... goblin toe or something else , rings - maybe some good rares with max dmog or str , maybe booth
How is this build gonna fare agains the rest lld builds ? Any sudgestions will be wellcome.

i dont know specifically about them, but i've met enough and with the general game/lld experience i can safely say:
-fanatacism is the way to go for smiters.
-at some points it's better to pump holy shield instead of smite, i'm pretty sure this is one of them, but check out a calc or something (sorry no link)
-crystal swords/dim blades are not phase blades, they have a much, much lower speed and you wouldnt use them in any case. i do believe the "best" weapon for a 30 smiter is a socketed scepter with +smite skills/+fanat skills or a magic scepter with +combat skills. ias is good, but if you dont have enough put shaels in it. either that or honor in a +skill scepter, not exactly sure, just not either sword you mention.
-max jewels do not work with smite. in your armor you'll put pskulls or rubies. you're not going to be a full smiter though so maybe you'll want maxers anyway, up to you.
-belt = string of ears.
-goblin toe all the way. since smite has such crappy dmg, you use crushing blow from gtoes to nearly kill

edit: like i said, i'm not a 30 smiter expert, so wait on someone who is (if they show up).

Im not sure if at lvl 30 i can put more than 1 point in fanatism . I will try to find balance hs/smite. I will try to find such scepter , are they sold in vendors ?
Also you look like you have experience in LLD , how are the good smiters faring against the rest chracter classes ?

I am no expert at LLD, but I know cutlass has a base speed of -30, but the fastest scepter (War Scepter) has only a base speed of -10. Of course, scepter can has inherent skill bonus and cutless don't (Except +2 pcomb ones I think) and cutless has only 1 range where war scepter has 2 range.

Then 6sox superior naga is my best choice i think. Socketed with 4shaels and 2 hels. On switch (for charge ) i will use 6 sox bec de cobin with 4 max jewels and 2 hels or maybe 6 sox lance if i find one. Since the max dmg does not affect smite i will use spirit shield.
How many points i can put in fanatism at lvl 30 ? only 1 ?

Here's a idea I've been toying with as a Smite/Charge hybrid... I like doing things out of the ordinary and I do come from a hardcore background, so keep that in mind.

It's meant to look garbagy and solicit duels in hardcore. Basically, meant to look like a smiter (which are harmless in HC), smite until X%, and then charge to finish off (no second chances, which explains the high AR) (hopefully bypassing chicken). All theorycraft, figured maybe you guys can draw stuff from it.

The weapon damage wont benefit smite so using naga will be a waste (too high strenght requirement).

For range 3 a good choice is a 5xshael flail or for range 2 a 6xshael military pick.

Spirit is a good choice for a shield but take a look at Rhyme as well :yes:

For rings SOJ's are good. For helm a good rare circlet or Peasant Crown.

As for concentration or fanatism...both are viable ways to go. Just be sure to calculate the needed speed for the path you choose (fanatism adds speeds but concentration gives more damage).

Max resi in Normal and in NM

If you go for level 29 (Eu only....) use a 6 shael military pick or 5 shael flail for range 3...Naga is too slow. Rest of Eq should be similar to what I use, you WONT have a strong charge, so try to get used to switching skills without locking yourself up all the time.

Depends on how much res they have :D half the time I just use FOH vs sorcs as they just tele away before I can smite. VS ama's i'll charge in and smite, then FOH as it will stun due to having twirlies then charge and smite.

I made v/t and its more powerfull than i expected and im still without life charms ! Some classes are though - Amas and trapers , but some i cant even damage - wind dudus and ww barbs ... the eq im using is
