As the topic says, what is a good build to center around a Windforce? I've got one a while ago, but since my only zon is a LF/CS javazon, its not seeing any use (except when my paladin needs to whack some OKs while Iron Maiden'ed)... Kinda sad to see such an awesome bow reduced to a zealot's secondary backup weapon, so I wanna build a bowazon of some kind... And the simple question here is: Which build would best utilize the powers of the Windforce? Strafe? Multi? Haven't ever played a bowazon I think (maybe once like 8 years ago), so I'm on unfamiliar ground here.

Thanks in advance for any advice I may receive :)

You: Wf, Forti, LoH, Razortail, Atma, Gores/Wts, Raven, LL-ring, Andys, Anni, Torch, maxdam charms, switch: Demon Limb
Merc: Faith, Forti, Andy

20 Strafe, 20 Penetrate, 10-20 Multishot(after +skills), 16 Critical Strike(after +skills), 9 Pierce (after +skills), Rest in Valkyrie

Windforce is one of the most commonly used bows. It's still shining.

I kinda agree with krem, although maybe you want to sacrifice multishot speed for strafe and multe damage by using an act 2 might merc with pride instead.

As an alternative to this very good advice, why not try a Frostmaiden.

20 strafe, 20 FA, synergies and valk as you see fit.

My FM has WF (shael), COH, LOH, Mav helm (ias jewel), WT, Razortail, Ravenfrost/Manald heal*, Atmas. ActII Might merc

She rocks, she's quick, deals good damage, has good crowd control. My preference is strafe over multi but you could go that way if you like.

NB* Going to switch this out as soon as I find something better.

Give it a try, I built this toon after finding WF with another character and built her specifically to use WF. I have not been disapointed.

Gosh
"Windforce is one of the most commonly used bows. It's still shining."

I cant even afford a commonly used bow. I am using a 158 ed Buriza which a high level Paladin "threw on the floor".....together with a Duriel's shell. sigh..

Nothing wrong with using a low buriza and a duriel shell. Sounds to me like you're playing the game as it should be played and making do with what you've got.

The Buriza is a very good weapon for many classes, especially the Ama. I used a buriza all the way to hell, until I levelled enough to use my WF. As for Duriels, it is one of my favourite mid game armours. The resists realy help out in NM.

Just because another player threw it away as worthless, doesn't mean that its useless to all. Just ask all the noobs who bug the hell out of people asking for FREE FREE FREE.

Well, let me rephrase: "It's one of the most commonly wanted bows" :P

I don't really think wf and fa work together that well. Wf is for physical damage. Althought the high damage and built-in mana leech makes a good leecher... Didn't think of that

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I like Krem's idea, only I don't see how that build deals with Phys immunes? (Oh, and I'm SP-only, so Anni and Torch aren't options for me, unfortunately)

Frostmaiden... well, I already got a LF/CS/FA javazon, who uses FA for LIs.. Dunno if I'd wanna build another FA-user so soon after Mat'ing that zon.. Need variety, or the game becomes dull and repetitive. Of course, you had no way of knowing I'd just played a zon using FA, so suggestion still appreciated :) Out of curiosity though.. since maxing both Strafe and FA (and I'm assuming that you can't strafe-fire frozen arrows all around the screen? hehe), would that build suggestion utilize Strafe as main attack, and FA as backup, or what am I not getting here? :)

Krem's build uses the unique amulet "Atma's scarab" to deal with physical immunes

My FA/Strafzon using WF.

1. Group of monsters approach
2. Spam FA, freeze in place and hits them with cold damage.
3. Merc and Valk tank frozen enemy.
4. I stand to the rear and wipe them out with strafe, leeching mana and life and casting Amp damage with Atma's amu to speed up the kill or bring down PI's.
5. Rinse and repeat.

FA may not be ideal in conjunction with WF but it works well enough for me. I solo hell comfortably, and that is all I wanted from this build so I'm happy.
