PvP with Elemental damage

I've been PvPing only with a Hammerdin and a Bone Necro, both absorbable damage, so that got me thinking- Do single Elemental PvPers manage to win in public duels?

Because at least for my chars, I could absorb any Elemental damage, even Blizz Sorc's Cold Mastrey and dual Dream Paladin's Conviction very easily (even without thawing/antidote potions).

Of course, this is in pubbies. When I was dueling a player 1v1 I would use only GM gear.

Anyway, for all of you Trappers, Sorcs, Javason etc- How many duels you find yourself healing the dude instead of hitting him? Because I've come to the conclusion my favorite builds are Elemental but I wouldn't like it if every 3 duels I'd be completely useless..

PS- Again, this is for single Elemental PvPers. I am aware there are Hybrids just for that purpose

PS- Again, this is for single Elemental PvPers. I am aware there are Hybrids just for that purposeYou will get oversorbed by someone eventually if you pub on an elemental damage build, thats a given. You can still do fine just avoid those duels, or switch to dueling bm yourself. As far as players are willing to play gm you will find elemental casters do fine 1 vs all. You will get bm'd and sorbed by someone eventually, but that doesn't mean you can't find gm duels and have fun with the character despite that fact.

It really depends on who you are dueling. Most casters will be willing to give you a gm duel. Some players may be quick to grab a pally or barb and throw on sorb, just avoid those players or switch chars yourself, or team against them and their sorb gear will handicap them vs others.

Yep, I meant unabsorable.

And what I meant was:
1. How often do you face an absorb opponent on pub duel?
1.5 Or: How many times do you win the first duel and them find ther other player to be invincble?
2. Is is possible to beat those guys anyway?

In the previous ladder I used to have a blizz sorc and I met only two or three chars that could fully sorb me. Nowadays, I thinks, yuo'll come across juving tmc hammerdins, fc zons and gmod sorcs much more often than chars with a stash full of all kinds of sorbing gear.

2. Is is possible to beat those guys anyway?
Yeah, just bring in your hammer or necro ;) Or, since swithing to sorbing gear usually means quite serious performance sacrifice, you can try to kill them with some supportive ksills like mind blast or telekinesis.

I'd say just make a char that you'll enjoy playing and don't care about BMers.

1. I have javazon doing 12k CS damage. I will meet an absorb person in every 1 to 3 of pub pvp games. Anyway, I think they have prepared themselves for javazons and lightning sorc n trappers.
1.5. There are some guys whom when loses the 1st time quickly changes to sorb gears. Then he would be invincible. The ratio I always find an absorb is 1 to every 3 pub games.
3. I remember the time an hdin put all his light sorb gears then I teamed up with a Fireball sorc. He was screwed as he was fighting 2 elementals, it took only 1 fireball and he's dead. He was confused as he can't decide which element he will sorb.
