View Full Version : How to reach 10 fpa with a java?
20% from magic/rare/crafted gloves, 20% from high lords/cat's eye.
12% are still missing.
1. Twitchthroe? This seems quite good since you can then easily get max block with a 4 socket monarch (even without deflecting), or a spirit monarch, or a phoenix monarch. And have an even easier time getting max block with ss/jmod. Also fhr
2. Ias jewel? The thing is, it's quite hard finding sockets. All common java armors are runewords, stormshield is mostly for hardcore, jmods look incomplete without all 4 facets and griffons also looks incomplete without a facet. So there's no room!
3. Strokes? No replenishing, so this isn't an option.
4. Rare/magic javelins? Too slow replenish imo, and they lack frw
5. Settle for a 11 frame attack?
I'm not so keen on any of these. Can someone guide me?
Also, if running cows, cat's eye for frw or high lords for +1 all skills and ds?

only 2% actually (how homosexual), titans are at -10
i think one more bp > facet. you can get 15 res on a 15 ias jewel too.
i prefer cat's eye personally, theres so much space that running speed/fast tele = killing speed. i use highlord's for the rest (DS i.e. mana and saves me hassle of switching to it vs gloams)
Huh? I checked the german calc with ceremonial javelins which includes the speed modifier and it said the bp was at 52%

Even if the enemies die by one hit, every frame spent throwing is a frame not spent running or picking up items.
And sometimes you have to throw again. I just like the continuous booming sound when throwing quickly

er you're right, the table i had i thought was general, but i found another where it matches the -10 column..

it mostly helps in big games, because when u solo... 1 throw is enough for basically everything. i made the switch when i started making pub cow games (those usually get full in a hurry).
to me there's no doubt its more powerful than 30 ias bp + facet. that extra muscle is not often necessary, but its there when you need it...
its also fun to throw fast and spam :)
If you're lacking 12% IAS, you can just socket a jewel of Fervor into an (non-RW) armor/helm of choice.
Otherwise, you can indeed use Twitchthroe or even 'Treachery' if you don't care about MF. They are the best 0%MF java armors out there.
The point is if u r going pure mf route. there just no point for ias if u r just mfing. I mean yea it does increase ur throwing speed, but come on its mf. I would rather throw a javalin slower with high mf rather then give up those godly mf for ias.
imo zons are better at getting socketables with 0 mf... not just in cows... in general.
the killing speed for mf tradeoff is not really worth it, less than for a lot of other chars anyway.
So many people overrate mf nowadays. I mean, it's even worse on a java.
Although, can't it still be good to have some mf so you can get godly blues? Like jewellers monarchs of deflecting, jewellers wire fleece of amicae, artisans diadem of frw etc.?

None of those items are found. I've only heard of like 5 jmods on East that were found (2 with double dura..). And that is on NL I believe. Make your guess how many are dropped and how many are shopped.
I wouldnt dismiss MF on a java tho. And socketables arent all that hot in my opinion. It's still very easy to hit 150-200 mf without doing too big of a sacrifice (enigma, gheeds, nagel ring and some 7mf scs..). Dont overdo it tho
