Hammerdin shield?

I was wondering what you guys think of using a Sacred Targe/Rondage with 4xists for a MF hammerdin. I'd go from 250 MF to 350 MF then.

Depends what your other gear is, but I would tend to think you can probably switch out other gear to get better returns.

You'll be losing 2 skills/FHR/Resistances/FCR to get 100 mf - I'm rather certain you can make other gear changes to get the 100 mf while losing less overall

what's your gear setup right now? you should be able to reach 300+ pretty easily with standard hammerdin gear and some mf gear swapped in. shako (ptopaz/ist), enigma (if you can afford, skullders if you can't), wartravs, chancies, gheed's, +/-nagels, and various mf small charms should do the trick.

i'd prefer to lose the cta swap and use ist'd weapons / shields like a sorc over kill speed like that. having anything under 75fcr is too drastic.

for an mfer, fcr breakpoints are top priority

Killspeed > MF

I'd aim for 125%.

35% spirit
20% arachs
10% amulet of the apprentice
40% hoto
20% magefist/trang ouls

That should do it. If you can't find a priests amulet of the apprentice, you can use a maras and a fcr ring, or wizardspike

With that set, you can now focus on mf

I did some gear switches to get a bit higher MF. This is what gear it has atm:

That's about 305 MF from gear. I'm still wondering if I should ist my wizzy or get a hoto instead ( i don't like how that wizzy looks on him :( ) I'll hit 75 fcr with both weapons though.

I did some tests with a clean shield, and my run speed didn't decrease that much though. But I suppose there is not much difference in drops between 305 MF vs 405 MF?

I'll think I replace the soj with a 1x/20 wisp maybe, gives more safety and 20% MF as I also try to climb as high on ladder :P ( i'll never reach level 99 though :P )

325 MF is high enough for a pure MF'er?

Seriously, 100% mf and 125% fcr is better than 400% mf and 75% fcr. Get that 125% breakpoint

75fcr is enough for pvm imo if mfíng, 125 is more for pvp unless you are just boss running such as cs and baal.
