Smiter Vs. V/T (Which one?)

Well I've wanted a V/T for a long time but I also like how monstrous Smiters are. Could I get a few of your guys' opinions on some pro's and con's of each build, or what you all would do? Please help me out guys.

I have the gear ready for either builds, I'm just really caught up.

Thanks a lot Mike. I've decided to go for pure Smiter first so I could learn the basics of smiting and be able to play the hybrid even better.
