I'm playing around with making a daggermancer.
Anyway I'm not familar with what daggers there are out there. I really don't have good gear but I managed to somehow get a "fleshripper" dagger drop, (which is what gave me the desire)..
My question is what other daggers are there out there that would work well for a daggermancer?
Is fleshripper a good dagger to use?
My other question is, I know it's possible to modify weapons, either through the cube, or by possibly adding sockets to them and such, so I was wondering how I could (IF) I can modify this weapon to improve on it, and if so in what way?
Thanks

Heya,
Flesh ripper isn't that great. It's more physical damage oriented. Meaning, you stand and deliver. A poison dagger Necro will never tank things well enough to actually stand up to something, or a swarm, and stab away for a while. And your poison would suffer anyhow due to needing to have good enough gear to actually take a hit or two like that, such as max block and a high hit recovery and resists. All of which detracts from pumping poison's skill levels. For a dagger, you want "ignore's target's defense". You don't need any other mods really, other than high poison damage or skills. Your dagger is not for damage, it's just "delivery." A Wizard spike is even good, simply because of the big resists helping you to not need it soley from a shield and gear. If you can't get "ignore defense" then just get skills or durability stuff (ie, resists, etc).
Spineripper. Someone will probably give it to you free, or for 1 pgem. It's got +1 skill, ignore's defense, prevents heal, enhanced attack speed and +dex (to help max block). Only req's 25 str. Base weapon speed is -20, so you can shael it. Fast attack is important when stabbing and running away.
Blockbog's Sharp. Might cost you 1 to 3 pgems. Huge poison damage. 30% IAS. Slows target. +5 poison dagger. Big on poison skills too. It doesn't ignore defense, but with poison dagger and dex from max block, you should have decent AR. You can supplement with angelic for retarded high AR if needed. Pretty much "it" when it comes to poison dagger builds. Shael it for more speed.

Cheers,
But fleshripper would be good against bosses though, if capable of tanking?

Yes. It is a fantastic weapon for that. Just make sure to build/equip correctly for a planned melee.

well, I do kind of want to play more of a tank role.
I know it's not the "best" or most efficient way to play but I play for the challenge and to have fun.
i had heard ignore target defense wasn't as good since it doesnt work on bosses and certain other things.
But, I do also have a wizardspike I happened to find the same day.
So basically I would want to be aiming for things that reduce poison resistance etc huh? alright, well I'll give it a shot.
Thanks

Yeah, it doesn't work on Bosses, but it really shines on anything else. With the massive AR boost from PDagger it should be easy to get your AR up to spec for fighting bosses.

You are looking for that, but also keep in mind the regular mods you'll need for melee gameplay.
Normal daggermancers are already challenging enough. Just use that blackbog/spineripper. It's not as if you'll be cookiecutter.
Jade tan do has poison damage, poison res and cbf as well.
