View Full Version : Poll: Your Favorite D1/HF Character?
A fairly simple question. Which is your favorite to play, or just stare at, if that's your cup of tea. Add why (or why not) in comments, if you are so inclined. As always, beware of poll roulette. Comment then vote, or else vote and then back button to comment.

Rogue, although I've mostly played Sorcs (they get a bit dull after a while). I played D1ME a lot, and they're my favorite in that, because they neutered Sorcs a bit much for my liking and I found Warriors way too hard.
Ive spent most of my d1 time with a warrior, but i vote for rogue because i started to like her somehow in the end. shes really good
I used to play warrior a lot in the old days, but somewhat later I realised that Rogue was balanced much better. Warriors are helpless without a wepon with high +%ToHit. Sorcerors are balanced really bad.
I'd say the Rogue too, in terms of gameplay. I'd usually go with melee type characters, but Warriors just fall too far behind. Sorcerers are probably the most powerful overall, but I was discouraged getting far in the game when I learned of triple immunes. Rogues can handle anything.
Never played Hellfire, though, otherwise I might've said Barbarian.
Rogue. Beyond being a good, challenging, mix-match character, the Rogue's sexy attire and orgasmic voice made her unforgettable and ear-appealing-playable.

The Rogue Can do everything the other two can.She is the most flexible char. And she is sexy.
BBy the way, what is this "poll roulette" stuff about?

After you vote on a poll, you might have been randomly taken to another poll somewhere on the board, instead of back to this thread. They may have fixed the bug by now though - I haven't voted on any polls here in a long time.

Rogue. She can cast spells almost as well as a sorceror and she doesn't have to walk right up to an enemy to kill it like the warrior. She's the easiest class to play by far, which means that she's also the most fun. That doesn't mean to say it's not challenging, more like it's not stupidly hard. I remember when I made my first sorc, and he died multiple times from weak enemies. Once he gets a mana shield and high level spells, he's good, but until that time, he's just far too weak. The warrior didn't really interest me that much.
Another thing that is annoying about both the warrior and the sorc is that they both have rubbish latent skills - to repair damaged equipment/recharge staves. Sounds good, until you realise that it permenantly decreases the durability/charges. The rogue's one is much better - to disarm traps. It doesn't always work, but at least it's something.
In Hellfire... my favourite was probably the Bard. Dual wielding, with a huge hit range and nice amount of spells. With a few +magic items, she can learn everything that a sorc can. I'm not interested in the barb... he's like a more intense version of the warrior, but with no spells whatsoever. I'm the sort of person who doesn't like walking up to something and hitting it - I prefer more subtle means [like magic]. Monks were pretty good, and their Search ability was fantastic, but the Bard had Identify, which was even better.
When it was just D1. I mostly went with a warrior. But, with D1HF. The Lightning walls(which where a little overpowered) Made the Rogue a really tough fighter. Just pile the plus magic items next to the witches hut so you can keep boosting your rogues spell book levels until you have a minimum of Level 1 on everything. Before you know it. You can have a serious Rogue-Mage.
Get an indestructable bow with knockback. And, you own the game. You don't have to see them to kill them. They all have a set sound bite when hit. Death by sonar!!
