Hoz is generally regarded as better when using blessed hammer/conc/holy shield. Its more damaging since it adds +4 to your Blessed hammer.
On the other hand, the spirit is better if you're BOing and teleing since it has: better FCR and +2 to all skills and not just pally skills. Generally, people use both and stick their spirit on a weapon switch and use their HoZ for spamming hammers. I use both too ;-)

my current gear setup is shako, enigma, hoto, hoz, arachnid, treks, mage fist, 10fcr ring, raven/dwarf star, seraph. with that setup i only have 90 fcr and if thats ok or do i need to find a way to hit 125 somehow which was why i was thinking of using a 35 spirit to hit that mark. would suck to lose the extra hammer damage if i dont really need 125 fcr.

Are you going for MF?
If you want to have the 125FCR as well as the higher hammer damage then shoot for a juicy +2 Paly skills, 20FCR circlet and +2 Paly Skills, 20FCR Amulet (your Raven/Dwarf can be an FCR too if the FCR from the amulet falls short). This will net you the top 125 FCR Bp as well as maintain the damage. (Obviously you will lose your MF Shako which is why I'm asking you if you are an MFer).
Its really upto you. I personally like the higher hammer damage otherwise why do people like to buy those expensive skillers? I'm using 90FCR as well and didn't see much of a difference in terms of spell casting when dropping my HoZ for my Spirit 35 and using Wizzy instead of my spirit cs. The denser hammerfield from faster FCR matches the less-dense hammerfield but with stronger hammers...
yes I've answered your question with another question :D

thanks for the input :)
yea i think ill just stick with a lower fcr and higher dmg since its alot cheaper. 2 skill 20fcr circlets are insane expensive >< and really i dont notice too much a differance when i start hammering.
