Which would be most helpful (the better build) for a MB ES/FB (SvA)?
#1: +1 Skill, +250 Mana, under 20% all res. after Anya in Hell
#2: +1 Skill, +20 Replenish Life, max res. (75% all before Anya)
#3: +250 Life, +50 Mana, max res. (75% all before Anya)
I guess, how important is resistances in SvA (helpful vs. other sorcs and trappers) compared with 250 mana, and how does 20 replenish life stack up vs. 250 life?
Option 3, +1 skill really isn't too dramatic.

I wasn't really thinking about the skills. More the life vs. replenish life and mana with no resistance vs life and resistance.
I feel I should clarify that this is 95% ES.

res on an ES sorc is pretty important, despite what people seem to believe. it doesn't affect how fast you lose mana, but if you're spending points to pump your ES, you might as well make use of it.
you can make yourself a simple sanctuary shield to use when you duel elementalists.

i would really recommend maxres if its possible to achieve.
Those old fashioned **** that res on ES sorcs are irrelevant is totally bull****.
250 mana extra is like nothing on a pool of 4k+, at least not as useful as maxres.
As an example u play vs trapsins with 6k avg dmg:
1. with ur 20res: 6000/6(pvp malus)*0,05(ES Absorb)*0,8(20res)= 40 dmg on life
2. with 75res: 6000/6(pvp malus)*0,05(ES Absorb)*0,25(75res)= 12,5 dmg on life
now imagine u get a full hit of 5 traps, u lose with low res 200 life at once, with maxres only ~60. Now it should get obvious that maxres is a good thing even on max ES sorcs.
You can do the math with Fb dmg etc too, but i think u got my point.
imo i would go for #2, since a mb sorc already lacks abit dmg compared to noblock, so u dont wanna sacrifice even more, although the 250life look really sexy.
But if you are fine with dmg then i would take the 250life, but overall the decision is hard to tell if ur equip and endstats are unknown.
But most importantly aim for maxres if possible, which erases #1 already.

The difference in life would be something like 1.1-1.3, I think. I'm missing life mods on a lot of my items (ammy, circ), and my charms aren't perfect (30+ as opposed to 45). Eventually they will be, which would be 200 or more life, so the difference would be 1.3 and 1.5. My damage would be in the 15-16 or 16-17 range.
The difference in #2 and #3 is HOTO vs. Spirit CS. Spirit gives just as much mana on my build, but opens up a slot in the VMagi for a jewel (instead of a Shael), as well as vita GCs instead of FHR GCs, which is where I get the extra life, and a little extra mana from the jewel. I was looking at my life replenish and it seems like +20 might be too much to lose.

the whole issue of whether es sorcs should max res is a corollary to the larger "will i die from ES breaking or from losing life?" issue. if you find yourself dying because your mana pool runs dry, then you can get away without max res, since the biggest issue for you would be trying to keep your energy shield up. if you find that your ES stays active throughout the duel and you are dying via sustained damage over time, then res will be useful for you.

how u get maxres with spirit?^^
imo u forgot the 10dex from hoto which is also 20 baselife/mana :p
on a pool of your 1,1k life or so the 20lrep will pay off alot.
Also i think 15-16k gets too low since people will use hotties (if its EUSCNL) and then it gets a bit annoying.
i'd go for hoto and improve the life over better inv/circ/amu step by step.
if you only got 1,1k life i would think about waterwalks as boots instead of manacrafts, but then again ur fhr lacks if u got fhr craftboots xD
but u will still gain some life cos ur skillers are mid atm, also 15dex is nice.

Max res /w Spirit: 20 Torch, 20 Anni, 18 Circlet, 35 VMagi, 65-70 Sanctuary, 12-17 Ammy. I factored in the 10 dex from HOTO into my estimations.

don't use sanc as a blocking shield though. the super-long blocking animation will get you killed.
