from my experience with 30 duels i try to dflight in at the end of their whirl (have to predict it). having a good ranged weapon helps. also get crushing blow. other specific tips i just dont know. stunning doesnt work on ww barbs since they can continue to whirl through it. the best thing to look for is someone who whirls through you. if they stayed out a bit and clipped you, you'd have no luck.
one thing going for you is that they're shield less. most kickers have good ar anyway so high def doesnt matter to them as much as say a zealer vs that same barb. be patient and get them when their whirls are over or avoid them all together until they run out of mana.
its also hardcore.. lol. im dueling my friend. and we're using pots. i was wondering if i kick him and keep him there would that be a good idea or he could still whirl through me? i understand that pvp is cut by 1/6 what would be a good dmg for a sin at lv 34? i have these items planned but idk if theyre good enough;
guilluame's face <-- idk what to socket it yet, uhm, max jool?
"strength" flail.
rhyme for the cbf / block.
ik glove / belt / boot combo.
twitch <-- uh max or IAS?
angelic ammy / ring / (rare dual stat ring) although i havent found the ring yet.
opinions on my stuff?

not sure the dmg at 34. at 30 with lvl 24 kicks my sin has 273-480. she's got war boots on and that's the major source of damage so you shouldnt be doing much more unless you stat differently.
-max jewels dont work with kicks. go with rubies or stat jewels
-black flail (lvl 35 though)
im only going to be going for lv 34. ah thanks for telling me max dont work. prubies huh? ill try that. 480dmg eh ill try for more, also is it a good idea to pump more into str for better dmg?

again my experience is for lower levels; i've kick vs kick dueled several str builds vs my vit build and i usually come out on top. it may be different for you as you'll be able to use 20 life small charms (now that i think about it, can you? all of the sudden i cannot remember the rlvl for 20 lifers). in any event strength boosting is a way to get more damage, but i've not personally tried it.
20lifer sc's are lvl 39 so i cannot. ill try to do crazy dmg because ill be dueling in hardcore, ill see how that goes. thanks CDM.

My understanding is you don't need the IAS from Twitch (I'm going to guess you aren't running around with a pitiful BoS and prebuff with appropriate weapons).
Would an artisan's light plate of the squid (?) be better in this case? Need an expert's opinion.

he shouldnt be running around on bos anyway. fade is totally the route to go even if you're strictly melee since you get that great 1%dr per level.
im questioning on fade, and yes i will be using it. so lvl 1 fade = 1%dr and lvl 20 fade = 20% ? thank you.

yeah. it's also cool because it can be prebuffed and the dr% will go by what you prebuffed it at. so say you only put in one point but prebuff it with 2x +2 shadow claws, you'll have 5% dr. on my lvl 30 i dumped all my "extra" skills into fade as most kickers do at that level.
aah, i see. thanks for the help.

An honor whirler stands next to no chance unless he is going for absolute busloads of damage due to how friggin slow that whirl is. Unless he 1shots your asn, you'll run him out of juvs before he runs you out.
If he were to how ever switch to dual letters, upped eth driver+peace, or Concentrate with that lance, you could be in a spot of trouble.
If he is building specifically to counter you, you could be in a bit of trouble. If he pumps STR like mad and goes with maybe only 1.5k life, Peace plate, +3 zerk 3sol'ed helm and an upped driver you're going to be eating a TON of damage and not giving a whole lot back to him. The "counter you" build I'd throw together would end up taking 38 damage per kick and crit you for well over 1.2k magic damage. Ofcourse this is very, very specific and in no way indicative of how it'd work out with some one who isnt trying to pick you apart
