Bots With Act 3 Merc

Hey, Recently I've noticed a number of bot baal runs are using an act 3 merc instead of the usual act 2? And they all have a Sanctuary aura underneath them. So I assume are using the lawbringer sword but any idea why they are using act 3 and if so what other equipment apart from lawbringer thanks.

Posted in paladin as all bots are hammerdins, and I thought the merc choice was something to do with that.

Probably either Lawbringer or Azurewrath, both have sanc aura.

That was part of my durable paladin build.

Paladins have crazy defense, so no A2 defiance merc necessary.

Redemption means insight isn't needed.

Sanctuary has aura-based knockback, which is awesome for oblivion knights and dolls (perhaps the most important aspect).

My old A3 Cold Mercenary used an Ethereal Shaftstop (Sol) + Delirium + Lawbringer. That afforded some (cold) crowd control and massive protection (from undead/dolls).

Act 3 mercs would make sense, because they can not just knock back the deadliest pack (Oblivion Knights and Undead Dolls) with Lawbringer, but also freeze enemies with Glacial Spike.

Why would they even bother with an act 2 merc when there is no immunity issues? You also got to factor in Iron Maiden = bye bye act 2 merc.

They use Act 1 merc Ice bow or Act 3 merc with Lawbringer. Lawbringer has higher aura than azurewarth. :yes:
