View Full Version : Heaven's light or Azurewrath for zealot/smiters?
I found a 294ed/2oc/2skill heaven's light a few days ago, and I have been using that ever since. Then one day I saw another pally using azurewrath and by the look of it he seems to be doing more damage than I do.
So my question is which is the better weapon overall for zealot/smiters?

Not sure about zealots, but heaven's light does more for smite than azurewrath does. WIth level 20+ fanat and 2 shaels in it, you'll hit 6 fpa smite. Heaven's light also comes with handy crushing blow and 2 skills :)

I think it depends on the rest of your gear. You need CB, but if you're already wearing Gores and Guillaume's then that's taken care of. The one benefit of Azure is the non-physical damage; very helpful against immunes. I also think Azure reaches a higher speed than HLight when you're Zealing, but I'm too lazy to look at the speed calculator.
I think both are top-notch weapons until you can afford Grief.

Dont forget grief, if your going the zeal 1 point smite route grief is tuff to beat
There are other choices - crescent moon runeword is actually pretty good and has ITD, open wounds and other nice mods. The same applies to a lightsabre. Thats right, a lightsabre. Part of the thing about zeal is that u have to HIT the guy. If you get 95% with ITD mod, you're doing more damage than an 75% to hit azure. The life leech is more consistent, the drac life tap procing is more common too.
ITD doesnt work with bosses but you'll be smiting bosses anyway...duh
