Are they still possible without the Marrowalk glitch?
I love the prison/wall skills and want to use a clay golem with decrepify to take on bosses
dentists seem a bit different to the usual bonemancers which is why i weanted to try 'em
I've never done one but it will be very very slow come Hell difficulty.
If you'll use a merc chances are it will kill faster than you.

that's not really the kind of thing i'm after - seems like more of a showoff thread than actual justification of skills chosen etc. for example, he has banned curses - why? for the hell of it? i am not into imposing restrictions on my gameplay for no apparent reason. i would rather read something like the stickied dentist guide that identified basic skills and minimum damage levels, variations etc. too bad it's outdated :(
Yes, it's still possible without the marrowwalk glitch. With maxed synergies, the teeth will do over 1000 maximum damage at lvl 37, over 1000 average damage at level 40 and over 1000 minimum damage at level 44, so it is quite viable.

Although that guide only shows cheap gear options, and aims for the 75% fcr breakpoint. This would be my preferred dentist:
Needed one-point wonders: Dim vision, decreptify, corpse explosion, bone armor, and prereqs
Optional one-point wonders/prereqs: Revive, summon resist, skeleton mastery and all prereqs. If wearing marrowwalks, skip skeleton mastery
At level 99, that's 103-94 points for bone skills, so you will most likely never max everything, but it will still make you viable
Bone skill distribution in my preferred order:
1 point in all bone skills as soon as you can get them
10 teeth
5 bone wall
10 bone spear
20 teeth
20 spear
20 wall/prison
20 wall/prison
Rest into spirit
At about teeth level 10, you will shoot more teeth than needed, and the mana cost will start to become big. Teeth also gets quite big synergy bonuses so you'll notice that points in synergies will increase the damage more than points in the skill does, and synergies don't increase mana cost either.
you'll also have to choose between bone wall (stronger armor and teeth) or bone spear (secondary attack and teeth).
Then equipment:
Weapon: Boneshade lich wand (5% more fcr than white, as well as 1 more teeth level and ability to be socketed)
Armor: Enigma/bone runeword (bone has the same amount of +skills, more resists and an auto-refreshing bone armor, so in some ways its more effective and fun than enigma)
Shield: Spirit
Helm: Venomous circlet of the magus. If you can afford it, and you're not teleporting all the time, you can socket it with a cham
Amulet: Venoumous amulet of the apprentice (or crafted fcr amulet depending on other gear)
Belt: Arachnids mesh
Ring 1: Stone of jordan (or fcr ring if you don't have enough)
Ring 2: Ravenfrost unless you're rich enough for a cham in helm or if you teleport instead of running meaning being slowed doesn't affect you
Boots: If using revives, wear marrowwalks and don't allocate a point in skeleton mastery. Otherwise etheral treks or waterwalks or silkweaves or whatever also works
Gloves: Trang ouls
Inventory: Anni, torch and pnb charms, as well as enough fhr to reach a good bp and enough resists for max
If we count the fcr (goal is 125%):
Definite sources:
25% from boneshade
20% from arachs
20% from trangs
25% from spirit
That's 90% fcr. 35% more is needed. These are the options fore more fcr
Shield:
5% from upgrading to average spirit
10% from upgrading to perfect spirit
Amulet:
10% from an amulet of the apprentice
15% from a low crafted caster amulet with the apprentice affix
20% from perfect fcr crafted amulet with the apprentice affix (very expensive)
Armor:
30% from skin of the vipermagi
Helmet:
10-20% from circlet of the apprentice/magus
Rings:
10-20% from a fcr ring or two (this should only be a last resort)
My preferred way to get 35% more fcr would probably be this:
Upgrading to average spirit + amulet of the apprentice + circlet of the magus
Or a not-so-bad idea might also be exchanging the spirit for a fcr-free shield (homunculus), meaning 60% more fcr from other things will still give you a 9 frame cast
Skin of the vipermagi + amulet of the apprentice + circlet of the magus is enough in that case. This is actually what I recommend. You lose +1 to poison and bone and summoning, as well as lots of fhr and teleport (or auto-repairing bone armor in case you chose bone runeword), but you gain +1 to curses, ability to get a max fast block and lots of resists (especially with an um in the homu)
If you want to use the white runeword, then don't go this route. In that case, get a perfect spirit, apprentice amulet, magus circlet and unequip your marrowwalks
For sockets:
Helmet:
If you can afford it and if you're not wearing enigma: Cham
Otherwise a scintilating jewel. If you can't even afford that, then I guess an um is in order, but scintilating jewels with a suffix (preferably fhr) are better in every single way.
If Larzuk gave it a second socket, give the helm another scintilating/um, or even a shael if you don't like relying on charms
Weapon: Scintlating jewel. There isn't much else that would help you
Shield: Um if you're rich, pdiamond if you're not
Merc:
Weapon: Insight (especially if you'r eusing eni)
Armor: Whatever. Duress, rattlecage fort or any other option
Helm: Old usual stuff. Stealskull, vamp gaze or andys etc

i'm not hugely rich - i can afford things like boneshade, shako, homun, viper etc. i think that should be enough for a midway-decent necro.
couple questions:
- at what specific level of Teeth do 15% synergies start to give higher bonuses than additional points? should I still go for max teeth endgame?
- would it be better to max Spirit instead of Spear for things like bosses?
- would it be possible to get a decent clay golem or revives with this build, in addition to curses?
- what are the FCR breakpoints for a necro? i don't think i'll hit 125% to be honest, what's the next level?

to be honest, i really don't see how that guy could clear normal and nightmare in 8players without using decent gear, especially when he appears to be using a summoner-dentist hybrid. admittedly he's not using curses, which leaves more skill points for teeth synergies - however, he's not using bone wall or prison either.
seems to me like he's just showing off his skill rather than the build.
