When was it last reset? How often do they do so? Does everyone start over when it happens? Do you think they will bother doing another reset before D3?
Thank you!

it was around spring that they started this season or something i think.
The current ladder started on or about June 17, 2008. I believe the last ladder season lasted for about one year, but there has never been an established 'season length'. Some seasons have lasted months, some for over a year IIRC.

It gets reset the week after you require all the cool runewords and have the specialty builds finished (i.e uber smiter, mf sorc, bo barb, chanter, pit runner, key runner and fun builds) Without fail everytime.
The ladder reset 6/17 iirc. Nobodies knows if they will reset it again before D3 is released. Last I checked there was no timeline provided on D3 release dates. Periodic resets where promised however.
I expect they will reset again for a d3 release. The reset brings back many gamers and it makes sense that this a good time to market d3 to those gamers.
I'm of the mindset of no more resets without patching some bugs (like tppk) and or throwing us a bone with possible new content of some kind. ( maybe something with the SOH?)
I was just not ready for a reset last june. I and many of the banana's had just started to have a respectable item base built up with the chi-chi builds around them. Having to start over again with the mf'ing , the key running, building the utility characters again was a hassle too, and the leading cause of trying out Warcrack.
As people already stated - ladder is being reset every "more or less" year. We have at least one more reset before D3 hits shelvs. There are even intresting rumors that next reset will be used as "promotion" for upcoming new game and will contain several new items, that will be used later on at D3.
And btw i'll be my last hat with feathers that we'll see D3 at christmas 09

When they (finally) ended S3 (after more than 2 years) they said they were going to try to do resets more regularily. S4 lasted approximately 1 year, I'm thinking that's what we'll have in store for S5. No promises though... they could do anything.
Yeah if D3 comes 09 winter a reset at the summer could be nice to get some people to play again. The release could be 2010 tho :)

You're far too optimistic.

Cursed little reset, We hateses it,
We hateses it!
Seriously, its killed mine and alot of other motivation, and nearly made me stop playing together. In my opinion, it was utterly pointless. Sure, the first day, day, was fun with the CTA group, but after that, same old grind and MFing, only ALOT harder. And since NL is barren in HC, you can't even play it like you can in SC, so hurray for all your stuff being wasted. I miss my Self found/made CoH.....
