Anyone fancy, creating a dedicated 1.12a group. RWM/RRM mods enabled.

That we play the game(chose Class/Combos etc before we start), from beginning to end
Twink/untwinked, we can vote upon it.
Chose if theres muling allowed or not etc.
Vote upon other issues etc.

Just to play the game as a group as id like that alot, SP can be a tad boring at times, but its good enough for me, however, playing as a group of like minded people can be fun and help pass the time whilst enjoying the game we all love.:thumbup:

Therefore I proposition that we form a "group" that we play maybe 1-2hours an evening or whenever everyone (who decides to be in the group) is available and enjoy playing the game as a group

Interested. I am just +1 to you timezone, so it could work long term. It would be SC aye?

I vote for twinked. But with feeling. No mean rush-rush 1.09 Ravenclaw killing machines, just mule in that +3 blizz staff, so I dont have to shop for it and slow the whole group by hour and such.

Other than that, I dont have any special wishes

EDIT:

I can host sunday evening - thursday evening (weekends = home = router).
Char - hmm, I need blizz for some mephing and dont have any (restarted recently), or some zealot or (most probable option) always wanted to try lower resist bone nekro/iron golem ...

yea its going to be SC, and yea i can twink slightly(68 CL/FO sorc, currently A5 Nightmare so limited MFing ;), meph gave me quite a few pieces of gear though ;)

Yup no rushing, perhaps full clears, however, the thing is I can't host which is a complete bummer. I am undecided on the class/combo im going to go as of yet ;)

I like this idea of a fixed group for finishing the complete game very much. My idea would be SC, twinked, full clears (or at least full quests).

One question: how do you handle the situation when not everybody is available to play? One way is to let the character host who is lagging with quests most. This will inevitably involve some limited re-runs of areas, which is not a big problem. It also requires that all involved are able to host, which is probably not the case.
Alternatively, people who miss a few evenings, can catch up by doing a few quests in SP.

I am asking because I'd like to participate, but I can only play on Thursday to Sunday, evenings mostly (CET). My character would probably be a lightning trapassin, or perhaps a druid.

@Spudnik: how large do you think the group should be, and when do you intend to start playing?

Not to large otherwise members would miss out, We can start anytime really :) Just need to organise Times/Dates with everyone else, and I agree with if your lagging behind, catch up in SP or host if you can host :)

We can create many different ideas and things as we go along, so peeps post time and days you can play and well see about getting started up

At the moment if my shifts stay the same

Sundays - 4PM - 10PM GMT
Mondays - 6:30PM - 10PM GMT
Tuesdays - 6:30PM - 10PM GMT
Wednesday - 11AM - 10PM GMT
Thursday - 11AM - 10PM GMT
Friday - 11AM - 10PM GMT
Saturday - 7:30 PM GMT - 10PM GMT

My hosting possibilities nicely complement skiffcz's, since I can host Thu evening through Sunday. :)

Generally my schedule is like this:
Thu evening 9 PM until I drop off my chair (say, 4 AM) GMT
Fri all day
Sat all day
Sun all day until 9 PM GMT

The ping in the hotel seems to be ok, so I might be able to play on Monday to Wednesday, although I'm a bit worried about the data transfer (speed is quite low). Obviously I cannot host from the hotel. ;)

How about we start Thursday evening? :jig:

Hello there. After a long break, I have started playing Diablo II again, like many others. After reading through, I am very interested in joining a game on this forum. A little about me is that I've been playing on and off since classic came out. I do have both RWM and RRM installed. I will most likely play a Barbarian as I have little experience with the class (I like a challenge). Anyway, if we can get together to play, I'm sure it will be a blast.

I wish I could be in as quite often as required, but I got other obligation so I refer to you if you wish to play with me or not. As far as I am concerned... monday and tuesday (gmt -5) is the best fit for me...tho I don't think it will match a lot of people...

give me your input on it!

Given the current size of the group, i think it will be impossible to find hours where everyone is available to play. The answers in his thread clearly indicate this. Therefore I suggest to make a progress based playing schedule instead, something like this:

Week 1
Monday: Normal, Act I
Tuesday: Normal, Act I (repeat: for those that couldn't play on Monday because of school/work or because the maximum of 8 players was reached)
Wednesday: Normal, Act II
Thursday: Normal, Act II (repeat)
Friday: catch-up day(?)
Saturday: Normal, Act III
etc.

The above is just meant as an example. No doubt it can be improved with your input. Maybe one act per evening is too little, maybe one repeat for each session is too much (or even too little?).

But the main advantage of such a progress based schedule would be that we could play through the entire game as a group (albeit of varying composition), just like Spudnik intended.
