Question about Cruel axe+mod's

Im iso a Waraxe-Naga-Ba with mod cruel with base ias 30 or more.

How much ed is possible?

How many sockets are possible?

Can it spawn as eth?

450 ed is max possible, (2 prefixes)
or you can get 300 + fools (2 aswell)
2 sox is max on rare (Prefix)
why wouldn't it spawn eth? :) (selfrepair is suffix)

He really meant magic affixed. Then it's 400ed max, 2 sockets possible and can also spawn eth.

Yep im well aware of that site, but always found it easier to ask, anyway the axe i want with desired mods would be such a priceless item i would never be able to afford it, so i give it up.

But you could craft a Blood or Hit Power weapon with Cruel (300ed) prefix, Master's (150ed) prefix, 2 sockets (3rd prefix) and 40ias (suffix) while getting the 60ed bonus from the craft.
All yielding a 510ed, 40ias, 2os weapon (no eth or self-repair though).

My guess is though, that such an item will be pretty expensive.

If you get a old SC non-ladder sword back from the Chippys recipes days you can find them with 3 sockets.

eth will add a ton more damage than the extra %ED.

If you don't insist on a rare item and you just need a cheap, big damage axe, get Mal, Pul and an ethereal elite axe (an eth 4 socket small crescent might cost Pul) to make the Oath runeword which adds 50%IAS, indestructibility, up to 340%ed and a few other semi-interesting affixes. But I guess you know that.

Crafted items cannot be ethereal, respectively the base item loses etherealness when the recipe is applied, so rares will have a higher maximum amount of damage.

I think the perfect weapon would be a rare etheral berzerker axe with these mods:

Prefixes:
Cruel-300% ed
Master's-150% ed +300 ar
Grinding-(0,75 per character level) 0,75-74,25 increased maximum damage (based on character level)

Suffixes:
Fast repair-Repairs one durability every 20 seconds

Then 2 of these suffixes (I can't decide):

Quickness-40% ias
Lamprey-9% life leech
Slaughter-maximum damage increased by 20

That would be quite a weapon.

I think it's an easy decision - who needs life leech in a duel?

Also, depending on what class is using it and for what purpose, fool's might be a better mod than Master's or Grinding. (i.e. if it's for Zealot vs Zealot or Barb vs Barb).

I think some would agree with me that 2 sockets is a prefix that you definitely want as well (or suffix, I'm not sure).

I'm pretty sure you can't get fools or grinding together with masters. 2 sox would be nice.

Fool's and master's are in the same group while grinding is in the same one as cruel. With other words, fool's and master's isn't possible, but grinding and master's is.

For PvM, I don't think anything beats Grief.

Even in Zealot vs Zealot duels, nothing beats Grief... and they deal with factors like deadly strike, crushing blow, and ridiculously high defense.

Grief is the best runeworded for weapon+shield fighting, but when dual-wielding or using a two-handed weapon, there are better runewords respectively combos IMO.

my intention was to build a magic char, just using Blue items, but finding a 450ed Ba with 2 sox and 40 ias will take time, and if i do i guess it'll cost me 10xtimes the price of jmod.
