Think it would work? Yes i can afford all the high end gear, but im not so experienced @ HC yet, so don't wanna waste half a fortune to start with.
It would be for 85 TC areas and so on, Pits is for the win.
What ells do u think it would be able to run, if its able to run anything at all ofc?
Post your opinion and improvements on the setup.
ty :)
I see you have read chipmc's excellent guide!
I love this build, never used it for MF tho; I used to use mine to help clear the mini-ubers, very useful in the Furnace, although my damage wasn't the highest without a Forti...it wasn't bad though but I recommend it for major output!
I used Treachery armour for speed and a Tal's mask with an @res jool in it, ugly as sin but king for this build!
Let me know how the MF-ing works out...

I will
and yes, tal mask is ugly like... lol :D
and about the treachery, i thought i could use the resist instead from smoke.
if i can count i should have about 135 all res, and a 50 more fireres from loh.
I'll prob test both :)

With the treachery, you could always prebuff the fade on it for the needed resists, but that could get annoying. It's sure to go off again from some ranged attacker in pits before the duration runs out.

I would concentrate on killing as fast as possible and forget MF with this build. :) When you kill lots and fast, even uniques drop every now and then.
I use WF with 150% ias (shael on bow, loh, threachery, cat's eye, nosfe, ias'd kira's) which gives 8 fpa multi and fastest strafe. With that setup, clearing most areas can be done very fast.
I'd definitely use reaper's on merc, because it increases your damage output and also removes physical immunity most of the time.
If you're planning to use only strafe, I'd invest some hard point into useful passive skills, so that you won't die because of strafe lock. :) I usually use strafe to knock back monsters, and finish them off with multi.

i dont focus on mf items at all, if its the wt's u mean, they're for the dmg.
and yes reapers is nice with a wf, but on a wws it will go over amplify :>
but yes, guess i could use wf too, its just more expensive. The reason why i chose wws is because its cheap viable, atleast i think so.
hows ur res with ur setup? and dmg for that matter.

The main problem with a bower, beside poor res, is lack of life.
If you want damage, you will need to pump dex like mad. Last season, my Bower even when she finally was tricked out, topped out at ~950 life. Thing is, there is a high chance you can be hit by the wrong Archer pack with nasty mods, and boom. Add to the fact that you have no block (D/A/E helps somewhat though) and you can be hurt hard and fast. I was always afraid around Dolls seeing as how one critical (aka 2x damage hit) would have deeded me unless I had BO on. I suppose you could BO, but then having 2 characters in game means more monster life, which leads to problem number two.
Damage. TBH, I can't remember exactly my damage with a Up'd WWS, but I know even with high DS/Crit, and Amp (which at 2% really doesn't proc as much as you want) it just wasn't cutting in to me.
You also would be limited to Pits pretty much. RoF, the monsters took me a long time to kill with a WWS. Keep, to many potential dangerous spawns. Everything else, is to hard to find/not worth running on a Bower.
Since you have MF only from Travs, you are mainly going to be finding socketables, gems and the like, in which case Cows would be better IMO, but then I would sooner just make a Java for that. In fact, i'd just make a Java period.
Think it would work? Yes i can afford all the high end gear, but im not so experienced @ HC yet, so don't wanna waste half a fortune to start with.
This is what worries me though. If you are not that experienced in HC, a low life, low res, low damage, no block build is not a good idea IMO. If you want to stick with a Zon, i'd recommend a Javazon.
I have used a Witchy to MF and she did pretty well running the pits/tunnels. Her gear was the same as yours except I used a Steel Skull (IAS'd) and High Lord's.
The WWS/HL combo gave me max'd DS, so I didn't need to pump Crit at all (2-3pts). That freed up skill points which I put into the cold tree. Nothing there was maxed, I had about 8 into FA. This was enough to deal with the rather frequent MI/PI bosses that show up in Hell tunnels. Also, put at least 5 points into decoy, she really isn't usable without some point investment.
If you're making a strafer, IMO you could do better but it would take more gear.
I love the WWS, but the damage output isn't going to make it "fast".
Add to that, because of the NextDelay for strafe imo hitting 2 frame follow up isn't super important like it was back in 1.09. IIRC on a single target with strafe at 7/2 it goes -> Hit, ND, ND, Hit, ND, ND with 8/3 it goes, Hit, ND, Hit, ND, Hit, ND So even with a slower weapon you're doing like 50% more damage to single targets, Assuming you hit frequently and fight single targets frequently.
I've been thinking about an MF strafer too but I focus on running with some MF gear because I know I can kill fast with it on, personally, with a different character.
And if you have Mav's daidem why not just run a mav'zon?!?!? that gives great resistance, good mf, and better damage than an Upped WWS... and the Daidem is the hardest part to find.... Everything else is a dime a dozen in that set... Plus if you really want to you can still hit 7/2 with the Mav Set IIRC it takes 120 ias, of which the set already has 70. (shael + Highlords + ias jewel in armor puts you at 7/2 or maybe 8/2)
And I agree with Marth. A Bowa is a poor choice for a first HC character.

hows ur res with ur setup? and dmg for that matter.
9k AR, 3.6 k max strafe and 3.1 k max multi (charms are very mediocre). That is with might aura from merc.
I have 100 base vita, rest dex. Life is 880 hp (12 avoid and evade with +skills). All resistances except poison are maxed of course (and I have no anni).
Have been close to death only once with this char, and only because playing lots without risks made me overconfident. (Hell witches do a lot of dmg to bowazon near anya.)
thx for all of ur advices, they're excellent.
The thing is, with the strafer as first char, im not gonna play alone.
Im gonna play with a summoner, so thought i'd get a strafer or trapper, so i could sit behind the summons and wank a few left clicks and watch the monsters die.
But yes, maybe i should make a trapper with Ss instead, if i wanna do a bit of mfing solo.
doesnt have to be a Zon, it only because of what i mentioned above.
its cheap, so is the trapper, it can get decent damage and res rather easy, just by using viper, ss'umed.
but dno what rest could be, i have the option that i can buy everything @ tradeforums.

If you're behind a wall of skeletons and a shadow master, you really shouldn't need to use a shield. Go for some +trap claws, or if you need to use a shield, use something for great resist and a lower strength requirement.

To the ppl interessted: I tested out the zon on SC
The results: Its pretty fun, but it just takes to much time to kill monsters in the pits for example. It went better with wf for sure. But WWs was not my cup of tea, i must admit, to slow for my taste!
oh btw, me and my mate decided to begin with trapper+summoner :)
