Quest Drop Glitch

I've seen on a few places here that you can get better than the standard drops on act bosses by killing them without having completed the quest in a game made by someone who has already done it. But I also heard this is just a rumor. Is this true and does it extend to other quests?

Was thinking of making a blizz sorc to kill meph in hell baal games without getting the quest and was wondering if it's worth it.

Not a rumor! You can glitch Mephisto, Diablo and Baal this way. You could glitch Duriel too, I suppose, but he is a bit hard to find. Andariel allways drops glitched, even if you have completed the quest - you only need to talk to Warriw right after you have killed her. None of the other interesting quests (Jade Figurine, Black Book, Hellforge, Anya, Izual etc) can be glitched. Wouldn't that be sweet though - an infinite supply of runes, stat points, skill points, resists etc.

It takes a little while to swap chars, but IMO it's definately worth it.
