Funny, you have joined jul 2003 and prolly played diablo then already and don't know where it is? :)

It used to be nice place to get exp when you were around 18 level in normal, after 1.10 I guess it doesn't matter so much.

When I'm leveling a new character I'll often clear it, especially the boss pack inside, around level 15-16 on my way to the canyon. In fact, you can hit level 20-21 by lost city if you play players 8 on single player.

Yeah its nice place to play it safe before entering the "harder" areas like arcane and canyon. I almost always clear it unless I find valley of snakes quickly.
