Why do people put on free games? I do them sometimes after running baal and finding junk that newbies would appreciate. Comically, alot of the people that the stuff goes to are not new at all and declare that the stuff is terrible.

For example, one time I gave a new javazon some +2 ceremonial javelins with good mods, something like 1-200 lightning and 2-8 cold and IAS, and the guy (a lvl 1 btw) throws it to the ground in disgust and says its ****. What did you expect, really? I'm not going to give you a free eth upped perfect titans and a SOJ, just enough to get you through to baal so that you can start running yourself and find gear.
Its really irritating to me, and probably other people who do free rooms and people are totally unappreciative beggars. One time a guy chased me around the room begging me around the Tals ammy, which I had told him I had after I gave him a +1 to sorc skills ammy (he was lvl 6, btw). Obviously not very new if he knew about tals set.

So,why do people do it when lots of people (no offense) on b.net are jerks? I just like helping the few people that actually appreciate it, but is there some other reason for doing it?

Here's what I do, when I have some low level, but decent, gear to give away, I put it all on a mule that still in normal difficulty and I look for games that might have new players. I look for a game with a character of the appropriate class/level and give then item to that person. It takes more effort, but for one thing, I have never received a cretin response.
