The best bvb gear?

perfect Archon plate fort or Sacred Armor I'm deciding
38 IAS 385 DMG Grief Z + Storm Shield Monarch
Steelrend Ogre Gauntlets or Dracul's grasp
Gore Rider boots
Verdungos hearty coil belt.

My main concern is if I should use the Sacred Armor fort because it has higher defense than archon plate, BUT it requires much more strength which would mean sacrificing vitality. Same with the Steelrends.

Imo archon plate is a better option. AP has exceptionally high defence compared to it's strength requirement, and also in comparison with higher armours such as balrog etc. Sacred armour will take way too much strength, which will seriously limit the max amount of hp you can have. It's just not worth it.
Also, use dracul's grasp. Since you won't be using enigma, steelrends will take a very high amount of strength to wear, and the bonuses aren't that great. I don't seem to recall crushing blow being very effective in pvp, and the potential ed isn't as great as it was in the ebotdz wearing days. It was more effective back then, because people would be using a lot of eth weapons and there was more base damage to work with, but now people use grief. Draculs give nice OW, which really hurts.
To be honest, I find bvb a tad boring, so I made myself a bva. I find I do quite well against barbs, even the fort wearing ones.

Considering that you'll have enough str to wear stormshield, that will add another 30 str which would give you at least 186 str. Sacred Armor requires 232 str, so 232-186= 46 more you need to put into str. If you believe that putting 46 more into str to get higher def in the sacrifice for less life, by all means go for it.

go for the sacred armour and use an up'd arreats.

with an AP fort, you'll do well to crack ~25k def (without mastery gc's that is) with a superior sacred fort, you'll be touching 30k.

don't stress about the str req. if you're hitting ~5k life, you'll be fine (pretty easy with a sac barb actually). besides, sac fort barbs tend to hit VERY hard (str = %ed)

as for dracs v rends: six of one, half a dozen of the other. they both work just fine.
