View Full Version : Getting into trading

I've only played Single player so far, so this is my first foray into Bnet, and I figure that it would be an idea to try and trade for some gear that will help me later in the game.
I often see games with titles like 'gimme frees' and it almost comes across as begging, which I'd rather not do
My luck isn't that great when it comes to MF, so I may end up running Nightmare or Hell Countess and cubing up runes so I don't have to sacrifice killing ability for MFing equipment. Also, is there a relative price list on the value of runes for items? I'm playing on Europe, if that makes a difference (I believe the prices are slightly different in different areas).
Maybe when I have some items worth trading, I can get the items I really need for later, but right now I'm just seeking some advice on when and how to start. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
try a summoner necro, & mf the pits, in hell, basic gear ye'd need, =
1) chance guards
2) skullders ire or 4 p topaz'd armor
3) 48%+ (+24 with p topaz) mf tarn or 3os p topaz'd helm,
4) goldwrap
5) +3 summon wand or leoric, or similar wand
6) homunculus p diamond'd
7) double nagel rings, 25+ mf,
8) +3 summon ammy
and enough misc res charms to have non neg res in hell :P
the boss mobs can drop Anything in the game, & grand charms are decent for rolling

Hi, and wlcome to the BNet Diablo II Experience! :D
I think the first thing you should do is take a look at the trading section of the forums here. There's a asection wherte you can inquire about the price of the items you need, or the ones you have found (there's also an outdated list from before the ladder reset), and there's a section for trading on the European server.
The price of items greatly depende on what you need. Some will go for a perfect gem or 2 (PGems are the most common currency in trades, save the gems you find and cube them up!), while others go for several high runes. The countess has dropped me 3 Ums this far on the current ladder, and you can get some pretty good stuff like the Harlequin Crest or Dracul's Grasp for an Um, so running her on Hell is definitely a good idea. I usually find several flawless gems in the Chaos Sanctuary and the Cow Level on NM, so if you can kill the monsters in there without problems, that would be a good place to look for gems.
By looking around a bit, and for instance using the search function just om the European Trade forum, you can see what other people pay for the items you need.
I'm not some sort of authority when it comes to trading, but I also play on Europe, if you have more questions, feel free to PM me or whisper me online on *devilock
Good luck!

Yeah, I only just found the Trading Forum after posting this lol *cleans glasses* Thanks for the advice. Hmm, I've always overlooked Necros in earlier versions (I'm a big fan of barbs), but they've obviously got a boost if they've become just as good as Sorc for MFing. I'll look into one and try it myself, might give me a new perspective on the game.
Also thanks for making me feel welcome :)

What makes necros good at MFing is that they can run nearly every area in the game. Sorcs are often troubled by immunities, or hard hitting enemies, and with the aid of curses and a huge armies of skeletons, the necromancer can virtually go through the game untouched.
