Help with Assassin build

im trying to make an assassin in hardcore but ive never made one before...so im kinda hoping u guys can give me some advice on what to do

The easiest method is to make a lit trapper, imo.

Basically max 2 of the synergies for LS. There are a ton of variants of this build. IMO the best 2 are dtalon / trapper (or flashdancer I believe) and straight trapper relying on FB / Death sentry for LI mobs.

Another option, what I've been doing today, is the blade fury sin. This build has AR problems typically, but with a little knockback it works pretty well. There are even more variants of this build because to use BF you basically only need to invest 4 skill points. I'm planning on going Venom/BF/Death Sentry but we'll see how far I get.

The other builds, pheonix, claw charges, blah blah, they aren't so hot particularly if you're starting hc new. Sins have good CC but they're still pretty squishy in melee range.

Things you should know is that claw block is pretty awesome, traps use ias instead of FCR... Pump vit alot. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

I dont think a shadow warrior or master is needed. I say max LS/DS/CBS/FB/SW and have 1 pt in fade/BoS/CoS/MB. LI monsters usually have low hp so FB will take care of them. Fade+CoS+Mindblast make this one of the safest builds in the game. Good luck!

You confused me because you say you dont think shad warr is needed then suggest maxing it.

I agree mostly with what you said, but I would change one thing. I don't think you need to max shadow master. Simply having all your + skills will make it pretty strong with only a few points.

Personally though, I would max fade, because it's nice to have the duration and more importantly the extra DR you get from having it maxed with high +skills. I would say at the very least put 10 pts into it, UNLESS you plan on using Treachery.

Also the nice thing about maxing FB is that it really really helps your DS. if you don't like it so much it's at least worth 18 pts for the extra +6 DS shots.

Gear is really pretty easy for the build too, and there's a TON of options. Damn, now that I think of it, using Treachery would be pretty damn nice. With spirit LS + Goldwrap it would give you a good cast rate with traps, free up skill pts and boost traps pretty well. It would also free up gloves for anything you want, probably chances if you're mfing...

I'm getting interested in a trapper now. Look what you've made me do! Maybe my next char after this bfury sin...
