View Full Version : Best Grush Build?

I've been told that the best build for mass grushing (3 other chars at a time just to A3 hell docks) as fast/effecient as possible is the pure frozen orb build which is simply maxing frozen orb, ice bolt, cold mastery.
This build is done at about lvl 60, however I'm sure I'll end up going to about 80, but I'm not sure what to put the remaining skill points into..Some people say max tele some energy shield some another element skill for immunes (which I currently have a pretty big problem with).
I also currently have practically base str/dex and rest into vit..
Using twitch, shard, ward, full irathas, and fcr rings with some decent rare boots...
My biggest problems are immunes which some people say are entirely avoidable, but I CANNOT imagine how unless I continuously start new games, and secondly mana when teleporting (hence the idea to max tele)
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with remaing skill/stat points?
Or perhaps an even better more effecient build?
Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

For such a sorc I would max tele first right after orb, and cold mastery then get a point in static, one in nova, one in lightning mastery and one in warmth. Then fill up your orb synergy ice bolt and then start putting points into nova(better returns per skillpoint spent then lightning mastery).
It is true that you can just skip Coldworm and our good friend in the viper temple, but I personally prefer to kill Coldworm because he's just lying there and he might send a blood maggot to get your precious rushees.
I tend to leave the viper if he's not on the altar though, since him and his buddies also help to block those skellies from the stairs, thus keeping your rushees safe once again.
Seis on nm sometimes spawns cold immune I think. Static him down to a sliver of life and then nova. Or chuck a potion and hold your nova.
For a rusher, you don't actually need to fill your synergy, so you could put more points into a lightning skill if that makes you more comfortable, but I do advise maxing tele, your teleport will be so cheap, you will gain mana while teleporting at level 80. (provided you get +3 skills and magefist, which ups your wamth to 5 in total and makes your teleport cost only 2 mana.
To be able to survive those vipers in Hell, get lots of cold res, I still think most of their damage to my sorcs comes from their cold damage on their charge.
What is this Grush anyway?

i think u probably read all the threads/posts about rushing sorcs, which means my posts as well.
i'll just re-state this:
FCR is really a good alternative. if you're careful u shouldn't die. and if u can skip cold immunes, FCR will let u. if u need to kill cold immunes than u'll need a 2nd kill skill (fire or lit or poison).
with high FCR (shard, magefist, eyeless, jewerly (rings, amulet), i usually can tele rush hell diffculty act 1-act 4 (though act 3, council and meph, if u don't use moat trick, is kinda dangerous without resists). but i can usually tele act 1 (catacombs-andy), act 2 (INCLUDING viper temple, arcane sanctuary, and canyon-tombs), act 3 (doh 2-3) without dieing *usually* if i'm careful by jsut FCR tele'ing.
my sorc is still mising magefists and yet she is doing what i wrote just above this.
heres my mf-rush orber sorc:
skills:
20 orb, 20 ice bolt, 20 cm (cold mast), 20 teleport, going on 20 static (this was a MISTAKE, u wanna put pts into warmth or 2nd kill skill, NOT static!) (pt 1 pt into static of course, just not more. static, more range, is pretty useless for monster groups. it doesn't really speed up killing that much faster. 1 pt static is really all u need for the cold immune single monsters u wanna kill.)
gear (as of right now. i still don't have a magefist):
shard, full iratha, eyeless, FCR rings with negligible resists (need better rings), rare boots (need better boots, i might do tearhaunce for 10% all resists..soon as i get my str up..sorc is lacking str and is already clvl 85...until i get godly rare boots), rare armor with some resists and FHR (need better armor too).
this sorc lets me rush hell difficulty, usually without dying if i'm careful and i keep teleporting (if my teleporting get interupted, epecially in viper temple, i'll be dead instantly or in the middle any monster crowd. though usually long as i have mana and i tele fast, the tele is usually fast enough to even escape from the middle of a monster crowd).
Actually I think statik is kickass for orb sorc :P at least if you plan to play in 8ppl games. But nowadays 13-16 has been what I spend on it since you have to think about telekines(for ES) and ice bolt. My old 1.09 sorc that has no synergy for orb but full static and killing is pretty smooth with the tweaking strategy. You get so big pile of monsters to ~50% hp that the amounth of needed orbs to finish them off gets down a lot.
Could also save some points from CM. 17 is needed for most monsters over that pretty much only affects on hell mephisto. Max is nice if u plan to do pvp tho :)
De seis in hell dies for static and normal lightning (my sorc has level4 with 1 piont and +skills) so thats about all you need really. Toorc icefist is lightning and cold immune right? Have no idea how you should handle that :)

thats true, for solo'ing or helping others.
but usually i am in an 8 player game partied and the party (well, hammerdin...) can kill just as quick if i static or not. the static doesn't speed up the killing to be worth it for what i wanna do/need in my experience. FOR ME puting into warmth (or 2nd kill skill) would have been better (now, in hindsight).
