Who is the fastest runner (aka the olympic thread)

I am thinking of building my char MrFreeTibet (alternatively MrForrestGump), whom I would use in games lile "diablo run olympics". Basically the idea would be to to race around blood moor and other areas, without using any doping (like charge or teleport).
Im not sure, who will be faster, however:

-a barb in full iratha (20frw), blinkbat (10frw?), 30frw boots and 2bo sticks
(+4skills, no decreased run speed) - with 20 points into faster run
-frenzy could be used as a prebuff, for short distances

-apalladin using vigor, in full iratha, with a +2 sword (is the +2 shield worth it? is there any type of shield that does not slow the char down? I have this small, 25% block +2shield somewhere), the +2 vigor boots, and perhaps 2 sojs

Which char is faster?

As Im ignorant about LOD, I will include assasin into the ranking too - she would be classic equipment and burst of speed. Would she be faster than these chars? (IM not counting all the LOD stuff like annihilus, +5% faster run charsm, torch..)

I wonder if such a barb couldnt catch a teleporting sorc, sometimes the speeders manage to do it

I'd say the barb would win if the pala can't use charge.
If the barb is allowed to use frenzy it would just become completely unfair, I guess you never saw my barb "Sugarrush". Remind me to show him to you next time we meet.

Few ladders ago I did the same thing out of boredom. I had a din with irathas and like 20frw boots and i still beat a sorc (teleporting) too town from cold plains in a straight line. If it would have had blinkbat or the other green armor can't remember name and irathas and 30rw boots i think the din would beat anything, regaurdless of the other heavy gear you wear or the extra skills. A sorc with tmc would win tho, thats cheating

quick comment:

as with armor (chest-body armor), supposedly the shields slow u down too.

this is what i heard/read (no idea if true):

*only medium and heavy armor and shields effect u negatively (ignoring the positive of them having higher def ratings)

light shields (or armor) do NOT slow your WR (walk run) speed and do NOT drain your stamina faster

medium shields (or armor) DO slow your WR speed and DO drain your stamina faster. (i don't have the amount off the top of my head. 10%-20% for WR speed reduction ? i'm guessing here. i have NO idea about stamina drain...i never cared about it...)

heavy shields (or armor) DO slow your WR speed and DO drain your stamina faster. (i AM pretty sure its 30% for WR speed reduction. i have NO idea about stamina drain...i never cared about it...)

*armor=chest/body/torso armor. NOT all "wearible" gear like hat, boots, gloves, etc..

A Paladin with a +2 Pally +3 Vigor scepter, +2 shield, Iratha, Blinkbats, 30 frw boots, and 2 SOJs with max Vigor is +1% faster than a Barbarian in 2* BO sticks, Iratha, Blinkbats, 30 frw boots, 1 SOJ (second makes no difference) and max Increased Speed.

For reference, that's the difference of .04 yards/sec. A screen is about 16.7 yards x 23 yards. You'll have 60 frw from gear, so you'll run at 7.68 yards/sec based on that. 45% Increased Speed becomes +1.8 yards/sec, and 46% Vigor +1.84 yards/sec. This is the difference between a total of 9.48 yards/sec and 9.52 yards/sec. For reference, a Paladin using Charge gains no bonus from frw gear, but +4.14 yards/sec from 46% Vigor on top of a base Charge speed of 9 yards/sec. Thus, he runs at 13.14 yards/sec. A Barbarian with Increased Speed and Vigor both at their maximum would still only go 11.32 yards/sec.
