So Iv'e managed to find some Items that I think will work with a Hunger build and never got to try it out last ladder . Here's the build Im gonna use and the items . Going to get as much crushing blow as possible and load up on DR gear . Not sure what merc would best for this , suggestions are welcome ...
20 hurricane
20 cyclone armor
20 tornado - maxxed last
10 lycanthropy
10 oaksage
Rest of my points will go in pre-reqs and a 1 point grizzly
hat - Jalal's or Guilame's - leaning towards Guilame's for the Cb but hate losing those mods on Jalal's
armor - Duress - love this armor
shield - 20% Dr Spike Thorn - low block and Dr
weapon - Azurewraith - 5 frame hunger attack
belt - String of Ears - best I have at this point
boots - Gore Riders - more Cb
jewelry - Angelic ring / amulet combo and Ravenfrost - AR and CBF
So thats the plan with the items I currently have sitting on mules . Not sure of which merc to use really so Im using a Defiance merc . I realise the Hurricane is not a killer skill but using it more as a synergy for Cyclone Armor ..
feasible or no ??

You're using traditional Kodiak gear.. with just a weak hurricane thrown in.
you're missing the mark of how the build works off itself >.>

Feel free to explain it to me then ?? I got this idea from the Kodiak guide on the PvM builds section ----> http://wiki.theamazonbasin.com/index.php/The_Mighty_Kodiak ..
Also its Hardcore mode Im playing so I like a bit of safety . I took the core Kodiak build and added what I thought would work with the items I have at the moment and the skills that looked feasable ...

Search this forum for Hungry Hurricane. The builds are completely different.

If you really want to do a hungry hurricane style, you can try
Rain body armor rune word
5% Chance To Cast Level 15 Cyclone Armor When Struck
5% Chance To Cast Level 15 Twister On Striking
Unique Scourge Stormlash,
20% Chance To Cast Level 18 Tornado On Striking
Carrion wind ring can cast twister.
well just read his thread.
Synergize around chance to cast tornado, cyclone armor, and finally twister.

Ohh Ok I see what your saying there . Im not using any CTC items so its not really the hungry hurricane but a Kodiak Hybrid build . Thanks for pointing that out .
So with the items I have planned on using what way should I go with the build? Im just now at level 28 - and have 10 in lycan , 10 in oaksage , and the Kodiak core skills so far . I was going to go the hurricane route as its less points , gives a good cyclone armor , and a decent hurricane duration ..

I guess... with the items you have, it sorta makes a little more sense to use the traditional Kodiak setup.
the concept of the build I had was to try to utilize or tie both trees together. Your setup is good but without the CtC they sorta work separately, either one or the other. Sorta the idea was to mitigate the annoyance of doing the unshifting/shifting and have it so you can stay in bearform longer and be able to sitll hit with nados & keep CA recasting :thumbup:
Another idea that I've "kinda" tried was using Armagaedon with Hunger. I didn't get too far, I ended up discontinuing it after like lvl 60 for some reason. You'll prolly think this pretty crazy but I was thinking of using Azure/Phoenix and synergizing around CtC lvl 22 Firestorm, then rocking out Armaegedon (recastable in bearform). Life would be sorta low, since only 1 point in Lyc & oak, but looked like a cool idea.

Well after playing this guy a bit this weekend (level 58 as of tonight) Iv'e come to the conclusion that my build idea sucks . Hurricane's duration is way too short (50 seconds) and I have to de-shift to recast it way too much . I only have 10 Lycan and I maxxed Cyclone Armor to bump Hurricane's duration and I still have to de-shift way too much for my liking.
:doh:
Im extremely disappointed with Hurricane as a Hybrid Hunger Build Skill and Im going to remake him and try the Armegeddon route and see if thats better .. At least I wont have to de-shift to cast that all the time . I guess I could continue on but its just annoying having to de-shift all the time just to cast Hurricane . I bet it becomes even more annoying in Hell where the Hurricane wont kill much of anything .It wont kill much in act 5 Nm as it is ..

IIRC Hungry Hurricane isn't designed around Hurricane, Jary used it more for show. The point of the build is to synergize the Nados and twisters from your CtC items and use those, along with Maul and Hunger, to level your enemies.

So I remade my Hunger Hybrid Bear to use Armageddon this time and I can say its MUCH better than Hurricane .. Im level 77 now cruising through hell mode rather nicely . I had to change up some of my items as my resists were horrible using what I had planned .
I had to cut out that Spikethorn shield and lost 20 % DR but Im finding I leech mana and life back almost instantly anyways so it's all good . Wondering if Id be better off using a Spirit Shield with this build for the +2 skills as Im using a Mosers right now only for the resists ( +63) ...
And my AR is baaaad unless I get chanted even though I have 4 + 90 or more GC and several other lrg and small Ar charms .. I think I only have a 55 % chance to smack Baal if Im not chanted ..
I still need to get a torch and get to level 85 and equip the Azurwraith but overall Im happy with how my build is working ..

Which skills did you max this time?

Armageddon = 20
Volcano = 20
Fizzure = 5
Oak = 10
Lycan = 12 or so
Grizzley = 1
All the prereqs and I think I have about 3 in Molten Boulder
Im gonna get Molten Boulder to about 10 I guess and just either put the rest in Lycan or Hunger
