Hello folks, that topic rhymed, did it? :smug:
Back to topic.. I need some help on hammerdin mf'ing. I started my hammerdin few days ago and now reached to lvl 80 (I have BH + synergies + conc maxed now, putting leftovers for holy shield for now) and my gear is:
Tarn 46%
+2 pala 30% lr amu
+2 Scepter / Shard
+2 Grim w/ fr 25% / Ward 46
Goldskin
Magefists
Goldwrap
Nagel 28 & 22
Rare boots with some res / fhr / frw
Stats with all this gear and own conc aura:
10k hammer dmg
1138 hp
Def 1.4k & max block (with holy shield on)
Res all around like 40
Question is: what am I able to mf with this hammerdin and should I lack some +skills items and put some all resistance gear (such as ward + shard combination). I've been trying for hell cs but it takes bit too much time (im able to kill all stuff easily but taking bit too much dmg so lots of pots and Jamael abusing :alright:), andy and meph probably takes long too to find without hacks (mh sucks, gtfo), how about Travincal? Maybe need some more cold/fire ress to stay alive there. Or maybe even hell cows (Hell dia q done, im Baron, this is EuScl). Give me some suggestions and tips.

EDIT: I did some tryouts, hell cows were too easy, alot nice rare drops (even with 126% mf!), hell travincal was bit chaotic, lots of charging against Ghoul Lords and Hierophants, also pulling councils out of the building was tricky but.. got all them dead, few rares & lots of gold. Is there any other cool mf hammerdin mf spots left?
Trav should be ez with hammerdin. Maybe little less mf gear first and be sure that you hit the desired fc bp. Preferably 80 fcr with shard and 50 fcr for scepter. After you got that covered you can concentrate for mf.
My FK pala uses shard 10 fcr (prism with stack) 20 mf amu and 2 10 fcr rings with nice res. 50 tarn 40 chanses 20 mf from boots in Cs. Only 130 mf but rares drop quite freaquently compared to 0 mf and killing rate is the same. For Diablo i just take them off and proceed to kill. Best place for pala to mf is therefore CS (imo).
Ummm, so you are soloing CS? or going with group? I'm bit confused right now. Well travincal wasnt that easy, atleast not for me ;> ghoul lords keep shooting towards me and those goddamn hierophants using blizzard and lightning, took a few rejus ;p well it was worth it. Councils drop some decent rares and lots of gold. Few uniq rings dropped now but crappy nagels/manald -_-' sigh
I see that you have Tarn and goldskin.. Add chance guards and goldwrap if you do travincal == looots of gold :) Those golds you can gamble for amus and rings :)

I solo cs, but got my own boer and soso to tele there(srry akse lame but convenient). Runs take like 4-5 min avg (kill all champpions and uniq packs + seal and dia ofc.) if u count in the creating, joining, occasional drops and cannot join game interruptions to steady csing. Thats 12-15/ h cs runs. Not as fast as partied, but u get all the goodies on every run.
If you cant self bo then cs might be bit tedious. Maybe trav is best for you. Still if you are going to do trav then barb would suit you better so remake remake :)

Well that makes sense.. i've got currently an inspiration of making meph glitcher (since the gear is very easy to obtain ^^) and then maybe afterwards travibarb. For now im doing hell cows & starting 2/8 cs with buddy (shared drops ofc :D). Thanks for all suggestions.

if u wanna solo, you could make a hammerdin use max salvation instead of concentration. put 20 pts into salvation and use as active aura. put no pts into concentration. i think hammers probably still do enough damage to kill. but i could be wrong. haven't tested no concentration. maybe hammers do need the aura's enchanced damage, not sure.
this would let u use more or full mf gear. since salvation will give u the resists which is what the mf hamemrdin lacks and needs.
and if u with a party, there's plenty of hammerdins with concentration for u to get from them:D
or u could use concentration and find or use another paladin for the salvation.
and if u really wanna take partying to extreme, use the active resists aura party (arap) thread.
basically u have 1 paladin with salvation as active aura, 1 with lit (lightning) resist aura as active aura, 1 with cold resist aura as active aura, 1 with fire resist as active aura.
this will give the entire party 95% or nearly so resists for all 3 (fire, cold, lit) elem in hell cs while even convicted by the mages (oblivion lords whatever they called. i call them mages).

I've been doing some solo CS with my old 1.09 orb sorc. Shes 90 level now and I'm doing a full clear with her. Actually this was how I leveled her to 90 in 1.09 in the first place, doing river and CS. Haven't really checked how long it takes.. it depends a lot about the Obliv mage situation in the CS. Back in 1.09 I saw that it was almost impossible to beat Lord de seis with static and lightning. But for some reason in 1.10 I can do it, is it the few synergy points to lightning that give just enough extra damage to kill him or what..
She doesn't use MF gear tho but CS is a nice place to farm even without. She has old style build that still seems to kick. Max static, max orb, max warmth, high cold mastery 18.
Right now I'm building a sorc for ladder with orb and firewall.. I try to make her so that I can kill all those annoying mages in cs :) I started her from scratch tho, so it will be tough times before I get good gear, 61 level or something now in act1 :) Those cold immune Dark Stalkers and that type of monsters are pain in the butt with firewall since they are crazy fast.
Travibarb might be nice, since if I understood correctly that post where it was said that it's the first place you can get max ED on weapon :) I did some travi with my HC barb but god damn that Geleb is dangerous when lightning enchanted.
Yep. Travi barb on HC is scary even with vita build and nice over 10 ll and near max light res. Would not build high str trav barb in HC. Works in soft but just too dangerous in hc.
Last ladder made trav barb with 293 dmg mana leech martel in HC (150 str base) but eventually sold the mart away due the fact that i certainly would have died. And loosing that nice mart would have been too much at that point.
Boed csing is safer than trav imo. Havent died yet with my pala on Sc, but one close call was vs fana extra fast de seis pack. Got bit scared and started moving -> big mistake lots of hits and maybe 100 hp left when i managed to portal to safety :whistling:
