i just started playing classic a week back ( i was playing lod before) and i am just wondering ion every cs run i have been in everyone ignores the regular monsters ( usually get killed) and they send a sorc to kill the seal monsters and then they all kill diablo. isent the exp coming from the shear amount of monsters?

with public games:

get used to it.

few people who play nowadays realize that clearing river (urder champions, especially) and cs (all the random special monsters, as well as seal bosses and diablo) gives much more exp than just rushing seal bosses and diablo, until u hit clvl 93. (the normal monsters do NOT give that great exp in river and cs, compared to all the special monsters)

or u have a lvl 93+ paladin and sorc in game/party who don't care about all the lower clvls party members and selfishly rush diablo for the only source of exp for the clvl they are at.

the only thing u can do is get 7 friends and do private games.

or join a public game with 7 people doing act 1-act 3 or cows (though very rare) rush, and u solo do river and cs.

Many times I've seen 80-85 level groups doing only seals and laughing at them. I remember back in the old days I played with one ama with my sorc and I just teleported to the door and we cleared the whole ****.. took like 1 minute more.

Nowadays as you get lots of realm down and temp bans it is better to keep the game lenght higher than short.

Never played like that. Seems like a good idea and try and bring it back. As me and a friend run one of the more popular cs runs in west i'll see how they like doing that. More exp is always good and r/d sucks ><

good luck....you'll have as much influance as trying to explain how unpartying has no effect with cows...but i hope u succeed!

good point about temp bans "should" encourage clearing river and cs. though i dont see much of this encouragement happening...still 1-2 minute cs run games...and i seem to be the only one getting temp banned in the rapid fire runs....go figure..

Very rare you get games where ppl walk up and actually kill everything sadly - i think the problem is that alot of the proper d2 players are either running pvt games, or building duellers - ive not seen many proper games running where ppl mf together in months.

All ive seen is duel games, ppl saying that endgame diablo is all about duel chars, and ppl complaining there arent enough cows in the cow level because the opener didnt use a book of town portal with 20 scrolls in it....?????

i'm pretty sure thats a myth about the tp tome/book with 20 tp scrolls in it.

as far as i know the only thing that *MIGHT* cause more monsters is the # of people in a game.

but if # of people doesn't mean more monsters, than there might be some hidden thing/factor (like maybe the full tp tome/book) thats causes more cows/monsters (unless its random)

i'm leaning towards it merely being randomly choosen by the game script.

because for that matter, why is doh2 (durance of hate 2) some times really tiny and some times monstrously huge?????

After level 85 leveling is still painful, so it's better to get more items, but a bit less exp, because you will have to spend a lot of time in CS anyway. Most high level sorcs can do 2 out of 3 seals alone, especially the top one - they do it mostly for the items.

Btw. - what are the mlevels of de seis, and that ghost/venom lord? 78? 81?

Doom Knight 74 77
Corpulent 74 77
Leaper 74 77

Damned Cant remember but I think 77 also.
Dark Familiar Also think it was 77.

I think these levels was in at least 1.09. Pretty easy to notice when you level some characters up to 90 and see at what level you start to get less and less exp from some specific monster. Also darkness.diabloii.net used to have info about classic monster levels iirc.

So the seal bosses and other bosses should give nice exp up to 88 and somewhat ok exp up to 92. Not sure if super unique bosses have some extra levels?

so..in classic..

only the normal (white named) monsters that can spawn kings mod is river and CS (chaos sanctuary) monsters?

only act 4 random unique? (highest special= +3 to mlvl, except super unique like the seal bosses or izual or haphisto) monsters can spawn kings mod (and the super unique council members can as well in act 3)?

Outer steppes and plains of despair spawn with venom lords sometimes. Used to run those with sorc too in 1.09 when I was mostly soloing in act4 when others did cow level. If there was venoms that is..
