Although it will be a joyous day when D3 is out, however, I wonder how much traffic would come here; would the site be ready to handle so many viewers and visitors? I hope my worry is unfounded because I can't play at work, so I only have this site to keep me not bored.

Well, you should do what I do and play single player by yourself first.

Playing single player first is good anyways, you'll learn what quest you should do alone so you don't have to share the rewards with people people (hellforge for example).

Also, you get the full storyline without people wanting to rush and stuff (if people would even want to rush in the new D3 -_-).

And by the time you finish single player (normally would take me a week) the traffic and all the hype will die down a bit.

We shall see my friend, we shall see.

I think we would have heavy traffic and I know I can speak for the admins regarding what the server hosting the site might do when trying to handle all of the increased traffic that will hit us. I would imagine that the browsing would be set to members only for one, but traffic will still be high - and I'm betting record numbers of new people just like when D3 was announced.

-Of course we have MSN for those of us that keep in touch off the forums.

Time will tell, eh?

this is purely a guess but i assume the site will have more traffic during the beta testing phases than after release. i for one will probably open this site like 593 times a day around then but after the game releases i will spend much more time in game than on a website. i could be and probably am wrong though

I probably won't even visit the site after the game is launched. I probably won't be talking to my girlfriend for weeks on end either after release. I'll only be on here during work... because I haven't figured out a way to play at work yet...

i don't know that we'll be that insanely busy the day the game's out. Pepole will be playing, after all. I might not even check the site that much, that day. ;) Also, the vast majority of noobs will just go to blizzard.com, since they don't know any better.

Beta test starts are always good for huge traffic increases. We did vastly more visitors once the d2 and d2x betas began here back in 2000 and 2001, and the same thing happened on the HGL site when I was running it. There's just much more consciousness about the game amongst gaming fans thanks to media coverage of the beta. And page loads kick up especially once the nda goes away and we're allowed to post new info.
