View Full Version : Burst of Speed vs. Fade

I am making a TS/Dtailer with a DS bonus.

I've designed a character with lots of plus skills (10 shadow, 14 ma) and other good stuff, but at one point I realized that I needed to make a choice between pretty equivalent results.

Fade or Burst of Speed.

now - with Fade, I am not getting much DR reduction because I'm letting my plus skills bring up my level. I end up using 1 bartucs / 1 jade talon

with Burst of Speed, I am able to use 2 jade talons (to make up for speed), I lose an ma skill or two, but I could instead of shaeling my weapon, I could use a 30% dmg jewel I have. I will be 20 str and dex lighter with BoS which means I'll have about 20 stats less in vitality (the dex I don't need extra with).

I'm so used to using fade that the idea of using BoS is intimidating... I play HC Ladder.

But... I'm wondering from people who might have played both how the two modes compare.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

If I am going "untwinked" I like fade better, hard to beat the maxed resists and DR. If I am going with already found/traded "Uber" items (With these I usually already have maxed resists and DR already) I like BoS, because it allows me to use more non IAS items.

I guess I'm playing a little twinked at this point, though not gfg stuff, but I could definitely make the resists happen if I use two jade talons. Interesting how it becomes such a toss up. The running fast is fun though too, could be very convenient.... I find though currently that my bow merc has a harmony bow and thus vigor, with BoS active I run out of her range constantly and the she appears and I zoom along again, then slow when out of range, like a rubberband spring.
